Position Summary
The System Engineer supports GSA’s internal HR systems by assisting with system design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance. This role performs routine administration tasks, supports incident response, and collaborates with senior engineers to ensure stable and secure HR system operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with system design, implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and support issue resolution.
- Perform routine system administration tasks, updates, and patching.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational changes.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Support system testing, deployment, and release activities.
- Maintain system inventories, asset tracking, and configuration records.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on complex technical issues and improvements.
- Follow established engineering standards, processes, and security practices.
- Contribute to system enhancement and modernization initiatives.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- US Citizen
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field + 2–4 years of systems experience.
- Experience supporting infrastructure projects, system upgrades, or new system deployments.
