Position Summary
The Applications Software Developer supports GSA’s internal HR systems by designing, developing, testing, and deploying high quality application solutions. This role works closely with business analysts, system owners, and technical teams to ensure code is reliable, maintainable, and aligned with HR system requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of HR system applications and enhancements.
- Write, modify, and debug software to support new features, integrations, and system improvements.
- Translate technical designs and business requirements into clean, efficient, and scalable code.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure application reliability, maintainability, and performance.
- Apply strong knowledge of emerging technologies to modernize HR applications and improve development practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and documentation to support high quality delivery.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- US Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development
- Demonstrable knowledge of new tools and technologies supporting innovative application development
