Role Overview
9Spokes is looking for a Growth Marketing Specialist to own the day-to-day execution of our marketing engine in North America. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, you will be the hands-on operator behind our campaigns, events, and HubSpot activity — turning marketing strategy into pipeline outcomes.
This is a delivery-focused role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail. You will build and run the marketing automation that powers our funnel, deliver the events and conferences that define our industry presence, and keep the measurement honest through reporting the business actually uses. You will partner closely with our Content Marketing Specialist on campaign execution and distribution, and work alongside the Business Development Managers to turn marketing activity into pipeline.
Experience marketing into US financial institutions is helpful but not essential.
Key Accountabilities
The following covers the Growth Marketing Specialist key accountabilities; however, this is not an exhaustive list, and the role will include additional responsibilities.
HubSpot and marketing operations
- Build and maintain marketing automation workflows, lead scoring, and nurturing sequences that support acquisition and pipeline velocity.
- Manage the HubSpot CRM day to day — deals, pipeline stages, custom objects, and properties — keeping data accurate and actionable.
- Produce dashboards and reporting that close the loop between marketing activity and revenue outcomes.
- Keep the marketing database clean, well-segmented, and ready for use in campaigns.
Campaign execution
- Deliver multi-channel growth campaigns end to end: email, LinkedIn, paid, webinars, and ABM sequences.
- Partner with the Content Marketing Specialist to deploy, amplify, and measure content across channels.
- Partner with the Business Development Managers on ABM and account-level campaign execution.
- Produce campaign assets and sales-facing collateral to support active opportunities.
Events and conferences
- Plan and deliver 9Spokes’ presence at key industry conferences, expos, webinars, and virtual events.
- Manage pre-event promotion and registration through HubSpot, coordinate on-site or virtual execution, and deliver post-event follow-up automation.
- Work alongside the Business Development Managers on event logistics, meeting coordination, and lead capture.
- Own the operational detail so the team shows up prepared and follow-up lands on time.
Market and competitive research
- Track competitor activity, product moves, and pricing in US banking and credit union technology, and keep a current view of how 9Spokes stacks up.
- Run win/loss interviews and gather buyer insights, structuring what we learn so it can be used by the Director and SLT.
- Surface market trends and buyer signals that should shape campaigns, content priorities, and proposition development.
Website and social
- Manage 9Spokes’ social channels and maintain the website, keeping content fresh and aligned with live campaigns.
- Monitor engagement, respond to inbound signals, and feed leads into HubSpot for nurture and follow-up.
Reporting and analysis
- Analyse campaign and event performance using HubSpot, Google Analytics, and other tools in the stack.
- Surface actionable insights and recommend adjustments to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications, Key Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will bring experience and working knowledge across the following areas:
- 2–4 years’ experience in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally in a fintech, data, or analytics environment.
- Genuine hands-on HubSpot experience — building workflows, lead scoring, dashboards, and reports, not just operating a template.
- A track record of event execution with measurable outcomes, including pre-event promotion, on-site delivery, and post-event follow-up.
- Digital marketing capability across email, LinkedIn, paid, and webinar channels.
- Analytical mindset and comfort with reporting, attribution, and data-led decisions.
- Curiosity about competitive and market dynamics, and the ability to structure research into useful intelligence.
- Experience marketing into US banking, credit unions, or financial services is helpful but not essential.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush, Canva, or similar is a plus.
- Comfortable working across time zones in a globally distributed team headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand.
- Willing to travel as required for events and client meetings.
- Based in US Eastern or Central Time Zone; this is a remote role.
Security Responsibilities
All 9Spokes staff have basic information security responsibilities that relate to the physical and virtual safety and security of 9Spokes-controlled information and must comply with the associated company policies and procedures.
As a 9Spokes employee you will be required to:
- follow the 9Spokes policies and procedures applicable to your job function;
- understand information security, including how to handle information, reporting risks and/or breaches, and how to support colleagues to do the same.
