About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next.

For more than a decade, Vercel has shaped how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents.

We are building the platform for that future, trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next.

About the Role:

Search is changing. Developers no longer just type queries into Google — they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude, and, increasingly, they don't ask at all: their coding agents do. When a developer prompts Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or v0 to build something, the framework, deployment target, and docs those agents reach for are decided before a human ever visits a website. This is existential for Vercel: we're the agentic infrastructure platform for the agent era, agents already trigger more than half of our deployments, and being the answer that both AI assistants *and* coding agents surface, cite, and build with is quickly becoming as important as ranking on page one.

We're hiring a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to own Discoverability end to end: how easily developers, teams, AI assistants, and coding agents find, understand, and choose Vercel across every surface where discovery happens. You'll own our organic footprint across traditional search (SEO) and answer engines (AEO/GEO) — where "answer engines" spans both conversational assistants and the coding agents developers build with — from the technical foundation that makes our content machine-readable to the content and structure that makes us the answer. This is a senior individual-contributor role. You'll set the discoverability strategy and execute it hands-on, partnering closely with Growth Product, Content, Web Engineering, and Developer Relations. You'll report to the Head of Growth and be a key driver of Vercel's product-led, self-serve growth engine.

What You Will Do:
  • Own Vercel's organic acquisition strategy across SEO and AEO/GEO, with clear goals for traffic, non-branded visibility, share of voice in AI answers, how often coding agents choose and recommend Vercel, and downstream signups.
  • Lead technical SEO: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data (schema), Core Web Vitals, rendering strategy, and internal linking — working directly in our stack and with Web Engineering to ship fixes.
  • Build our answer-engine strategy across both surfaces: (1) conversational assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google's AI surfaces, and (2) coding agents like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and v0.
  • Understand how each retrieves and cites content — including docs, llms.txt, structured data, and machine-readable references — and shape our surfaces so Vercel is the source they reference and the default they build with.
  • Partner with Content and PMM to build a scalable content and information architecture — programmatic pages, docs, comparison and solution pages, and editorial — that ranks and gets cited.
  • Define and own the measurement layer: instrument the funnel from organic and AI-referred discovery through to activation, choosing the tooling and building the dashboards that make discoverability performance legible to the wider company.
  • Run a continuous experimentation program (page structure, metadata, schema, content formats) and turn results into repeatable playbooks.
  • Own domain and technical health across our web properties in collaboration with Engineering — migrations, redirects, canonicalization, and international/localization structure.
  • Stay ahead of a fast-moving landscape and translate algorithm and AI-engine changes into a clear point of view and a prioritized roadmap.
About You:
  • 6+ years in SEO, organic growth, or technical/growth marketing, with a track record of driving organic acquisition at scale — ideally for a product-led or self-serve business.
  • Genuinely technical: comfortable with structured data and schema, rendering and indexation, log-file and crawl analysis, and reading enough code to work directly in a CMS or codebase and spec fixes with engineers.
  • Familiarity with Next.js or modern frontend rendering is a strong plus.
  • Equally strong on the content and strategy side: you know how information architecture, page structure, and editorial quality drive both rankings and citations, and you can partner with writers and PMMs to make it happen.
  • Early, hands-on perspective on AEO/GEO across both conversational assistants and coding agents — you've experimented with how they retrieve, cite, and act on content (docs, llms.txt, structured references) and have opinions grounded in real tests, not just theory.
  • Fluent in the analytics stack (e.g., GSC, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush, BigQuery or similar) and able to define your own metrics, build dashboards, and defend priorities with data.
  • A self-starter who thrives with ambiguity and ownership, and can move between strategy and execution without waiting for direction
Bonus If You:
  • Experience marketing to developers or technical audiences is a strong plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $207,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
