Job Description

Overview

As the growth & lifecycle marketing lead, you will acquire and engage users via the website, social media, email and other channels to foster a dynamic community and drive revenue. Working directly with the CEO and as part of the executive team, you will be responsible for all stages of the consumer acquisition and conversion funnel lifecycle and support other team functions with your customer segment expertise. You are both a strong individual contributor and can manage projects, strategy, and eventually other team members/contractors.

The Role in One Line: Own growth, community and retention marketing strategies and work closely with the SEO Manager to execute on related campaigns.

Key goals of the Growth & Lifecycle Marketing Lead:

  • Acquire new Travelstride consumers and turn lookers into bookers

  • Help launch new features on the website to support the customer experience

  • Increase retention and community engagement

Core Responsibilities & Tactics:

  • Brand: Build the Travelstride story amongst new travelers and remind previous travelers

  • Cultivate and nurture Travelstride community for engagement and user referrals 

  • Create, monitor, and optimize behavior-triggered email flows for conversions

  • Develop general email newsletter campaigns for engagement and retention

  • Design a marketing & content calendar and execute on it

  • Manage day to day marketing execution

  • Analyze user, customer, and marketing campaign data to drive actionable insights

Secondary & Future Responsibilities:

  • Foster brand development with supplier and demand partners

  • Support SEO initiatives alongside expert consultants

  • Provide insight and input into new features; Write copy for core site flows

  • Manage social media channels (at a small scale)

  • Rebuild the affiliate marketing program

  • Experiment with paid media - starting with small budgets

Qualifications

Key Skills and Experiences:

  • 3-5 years of experience in consumer marketing including strategy and execution

  • Born ‘doer’ - you excel at executing new initiatives and improving existing ones

  • Organizer - you project manage and multitask like a champ

  • Strategic - you think, plan and act with long term goals in mind 

  • Well rounded - you understand the full customer lifecycle funnel

  • Strong understanding of: email, content, engagement, paid and social marketing

  • Experience analyzing marketing data and utilizing to improve performance

  • History and love of achieving quantified and meaningful results

  • You sweat the details and consider the big picture

Important Skills & Experiences:

  • Experience building digital communities of consumers organically

  • Industry experience in marketplaces, travel, ecommerce and/or experiences/services

  • Startup experience or experience in fast-paced high intensity teams

Location:

We’re based in Austin, Texas, and ideally will find someone there. But for the right candidate, we’ll also hire anywhere in the Western Hemisphere remotely.
