At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Team

The Product Merchandising organization connects members to our world of entertainment by creating a Netflix experience that is engaging, relevant and truly delightful for everyone, everywhere. Blending intuitive discovery and local expertise, the team positions, promotes and presents content so members find it easy and enjoyable to choose what they’ll love.

Within this organization, the New Content Exploration (NCE) team of Product Managers is leading the strategy to shape how Netflix members discover and engage with emerging content. This includes areas like games discovery, live streaming events, podcasts and much more. Our work spans all platforms (TV/living room, mobile, tablet, and web), and includes features and experiences across discovery/browse, player, profiles, and new surfaces.

The Role

The Group Product Manager, New Content Exploration will lead a team of high-performing, principled and strategic Product Managers. As Netflix expands beyond traditional film and series, this leader is responsible for the vision and strategy of how the member product experience evolves to meet rapidly-evolving new content needs.

You will sit at the intersection of Product, Tech and Content, serving as the "connective tissue" that ensures our product surface evolves in lockstep with our content strategy. Your mission is to define the product strategy,  audience/member needs, roadmap, and experimentation approach that allows diverse content types to flexibly thrive on a single, unified platform. You will bring an exceptional approach to partnership, exhibit deep curiosity and foster a collaborative approach when translating content goals into product strategy.

You will partner with key leaders across the company to set the vision and ideate new ways to delight members, and convert those ideas into well-scoped projects. You will prioritize competing efforts and lead the talented PM team to execute. You must be comfortable at the hub of a fast-paced environment, interfacing daily with cross-functional experts on both the tech and entertainment sides of the business, with proven success in balancing requirements and trade-offs effectively. You must be passionate about building alignment, while not being afraid to push ahead even when there are critics, leading in the face of ambiguity.

What You’ll Do

As Group Product Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our product strategies for new content experiences, focusing on:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Oversee a strong team of PMs, guiding them in setting and achieving ambitious goals. Actively coach, mentor, and grow the team, ensuring a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing environment.

  • Product Strategy & Portfolio Ownership: Oversee the end-to-end member discovery and experience strategy for new content integration. This includes leading prioritization across your portfolio, coordinating closely across Engineering, Data & Insights, Experience Design, Content, Games and Merchandising teams.

  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional leaders to articulate a compelling product vision, turn that vision into actionable, well-scoped roadmap and prioritize thoughtfully across multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Organizational Alignment & Communication: Ensure the broader organization understands the business and product strategy and roadmap, fostering transparency. Proactively seeking diverse viewpoints to keep our focus on the most critical, strategic and impactful work.

What You’ll Bring

As Group Product Manager, you’ll set the tone for your team and be passionate about the work, bringing:

  • Proven Leadership: 10-12+ years in Product Management, Product Marketing and/or Product Merchandising roles. You have a demonstrated ability to develop and inspire teams to achieve ambitious outcomes. Comfort advocating for a path forward among ambiguous options.

  • Strategic Thinking & Communication: You’re a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator who excels in both written and verbal forms. You can clearly convey product concepts and lead thoughtful discussions on strategic developments, decision-making, and progress with your team and with leadership. You have the ability to synthesize the complex into the simple and persuasive, telling compelling stories that balance a strong, informed and intuitive perspective with data.

  • Growth Mindset & High Attention to Detail: You bring a growth mindset and a high attention to detail, understanding how every product element connects to broader team and company goals.

  • Cross-Functional Expertise: You have experience working in matrixed environments where products or platforms cut across multiple teams and functions. You are collaborative and open to alternative views while being decisive and clearly communicating team vision.

  • Technical & Analytical Prowess: You are familiar with ML-powered consumer experiences, with strong experience in building features and A/B testing. You have excellent data-informed judgment. You are passionate about leveraging data in service of telling the right story, not the other way around.

  • Experience and Familiarity with integrating content types: You have experience working on consumer facing media/entertainment or content streaming products at scale, having worked on products where different content offerings merge into one product experience.

What We Offer

  • Meaningful Impact: Enjoy the opportunity to make a significant difference in our business, when it matters most - as we launch big bets that shape our future.

  • Responsibility & Autonomy: We believe in transparency and empower our employees with the autonomy to innovate. Our unique Netflix culture is a cornerstone of how we drive innovation.

  • Creative Freedom: Experience the freedom to tackle interesting challenges and influence outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Collaborative Excellence: Work alongside intelligent, driven individuals who are passionate about solving complex problems together and fostering accountability of high performance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
