Job Description:
As a Ground Software Engineer at AstroForge, you'll support our engineering teams by maintaining our systems’ uptime and accelerating their workflows. Your role will involve working with engineering teams to troubleshoot software issues, developing and documenting solutions that span software and hardware. You'll need expertise in CI/CD, a strong understanding of containerization, and hands-on experience with networking infrastructure, including setting up VPNs, managing subnets, and troubleshooting network-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support CI/CD systems.
- Manage our containerized environments using Docker, and automate deployments.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure.
- Set up and maintain VPNs and handle network segregation across subnets.
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services -- from inception and design, through deployment, and operation.
- Support database operations, backups, and migration workflows.
- Maintain observability systems for metrics, logs, and alerts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years supporting engineering teams in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware problems and perform complex system tests.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation for internal procedures and services.
- Ability to automate solutions to repetitive problems / tasks.
- Expertise in managing cloud services, CI/CD automation,, and virtualization in complex environments using external tools, BuildKite or Jenkins preferred.
- Experience building and managing production systems leveraging containerization technologies, Docker preferred.
- Experience with database management, PostgreSQL preferred
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed
- Ability to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Compensation
- Level 1 $95,000 – $118,500
- Level 2 $115,000 - $149,575
- Level 3 $140,000 - $165,900
- Equity on the ground floor of a startup
