The Navy-Marine Corps Business Area is looking for a Ground Command and Control (C2) Systems Engineer to oversee Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) C5ISR Systems support to Program Managers and the Fleet Marine Force (FMF). Our team is focused on providing engineering, testing and evaluation, and supports experimentation on C5ISR systems and amphibious and ground combat vehicle systems to inform acquisition decisions and make the FMF more capable. Contractors play a critical role in adding both essential expertise, as well as resourcing depth that allows for increased capacity.

The Ground C2 Systems Engineer is expected to develop a deep understanding in supporting Marine Corps Program Managers and the FMF in supporting all system(s) testing, engineering, and experimentation. This position will report to the Leidos site lead.

THE CHALLENGE (Primary Responsibilities.)

  • Leads and provides guidance to teams in the provision of technical support and expertise for test, engineering, and training efforts related to Ground C2 systems such as JTCW, TCS, GCCS, TSOA, CHE, CDN, JBC-P, or MCH.
  • Defines, organizes, and assigns activities to accomplish engineering and testing efforts.
  • Provides technical mentoring to individuals and teams.
  • Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse, highly complex technical problems across multiple areas and disciplines.
  • Develops, reviews, writes, or provides technical input to technical test and engineering documents.
  • Develops and presents briefings as required.
  • Documents technical status, progress, and problems encountered during test and engineering events.
  • Interacts independently and proactively with customers to identify and define complex problems and to develop and implement strategies or techniques for resolving technical issues.
  • Works with customers to evaluate and analyze technical requirements and test objectives to develop plans to test these requirements and objectives.
  • Identifies, plans, allocates, and optimizes resources to complete multiple project related tasks and goals.
  • Manages and maintains equipment and configurations in the test and engineering labs.
  • Effectively accomplishes multiple project goals within established guidelines.

Basic Qualifications.   

  • Five years’ experience as a systems engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field.
  • Two years’ experience performing engineering, software development, testing, or system administration of Ground C2 systems such as JTCW, TCS, GCCS, TSOA, CHE, CDN, JBC-P, or MCH.
  • Experience in project management, configuration management and quality control procedures.

Preferred Qualifications, not required.   

  • Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
