All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Maintain grounds and turf of golf course in an acceptable playing condition.
• Operate tractors, and specialized equipment using specific attachments, to till, cultivate, and grade new turf areas, to apply prescribed amounts of lime, fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide, and to mow rough and fairway areas at designated cut, exercising care not to injure turf or shrubs.
• Cut turf on greens and tee areas, using hand mower and power mower.
• Connect hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf.
• Dig and rake ground to prepare new greens, grades, and cleans traps and repairs roadbeds, suing shovels, rakes, spades, and other tools.
• May plant, trim, and spray trees and shrubs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Good knowledge of the common practices, methods, tools, and materials of varied, semiskilled maintenance work; good knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods; to use hand and mechanical tools and equipment, and to develop skill in assigned operations; to operate trucks, small tractors, and other power equipment; and to read and understand chemical labels and warnings.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of the eighth grade, and over one year of experience as a laborer performing maintenance and construction work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
Oklahoma Chemical Service Technicians License
