Your Role

Sans is on a mission to build the next great consumer hardware brand, with a focus on products that help people live healthier lives at home. We started with a category-leading air purifier and expanded into a best-in-class countertop water purifier, and we’re just getting started.

We’re a small, ambitious team that moves fast, learns quickly, and consistently outperforms much larger competitors.

Brand is how Sans builds trust, differentiation, and long-term demand. It defines how we speak, what we stand for, and how customers experience us across every touchpoint.

The Graphic Designer will own the voice, narrative, and messaging systems for Sans. This role is responsible for translating brand strategy into clear, compelling, and consistent storytelling across organic channels, post-purchase experiences, and physical touchpoints.

This role reports to the Creative Director and partners closely with Brand, Creative, Product, Lifecycle, and eCommerce.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and systems thinker - someone who can define how a brand speaks, not just execute within it.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Own Email Design Across Flows and Campaigns: Lead the redesign of all existing lifecycle email flows to reflect the new Sans brand system, and take ongoing ownership of continuous design and iteration across flows as the brand evolves. Design weekly campaign emails with a high bar for typography, hierarchy, pacing, and thoughtful visual restraint. Develop reusable, modular email templates that enable fast production at scale without sacrificing craft.
  • Build and Maintain the Sans Figma Design System and Component Library: Translate the Sans brand identity into a fully systemized Figma library, including a component library, design tokens, typography styles, color systems, and iconography. Document and maintain the system so that it is accessible and usable by cross-functional teams. Evolve the library as new surfaces, campaigns, and product lines emerge.
  • Expand and Evolve the Brand Identity: Apply the Sans visual identity across new and existing surfaces with consistency and intention. Identify opportunities to strengthen and extend the brand system as the company grows. Partner with the Creative Director to push the visual language forward in a way that feels fresh, cohesive, and ownable.
  • Support Print and Physical Touchpoints: Design primary and secondary product packaging, leaflets, and instructional manuals. Ensure packaging and physical touchpoints feel calm, intuitive, and thoughtfully designed with the same level of clarity and craft as our digital experiences.

Enable Creative and Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with Lifecycle, eCommerce, Growth, and Brand to deliver design that performs and resonates. Provide design direction and assets that empower the broader team to move quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality and brand cohesion.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
