We are currently hiring for an artistic Graphic Designer for our Surface team!

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Ontario, CA location. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Typical pay for this position is $60,000-$70,000 a year. The final offer for this position will be based on the unique experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. This position may also be eligible for a bonus not included in the base pay range.

Horizon Hobby is seeking a Graphic Designer to join its Surface Product Development Team. In this role, you will support the creation and implementation of brand-consistent graphics across multiple media, with a primary focus on product graphics such as logos, vehicle liveries, original graphic artwork, and livery art replication. You will contribute both creative illustration and structured design solutions, while providing additional visual support across the department as needed.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional experience in graphic design, illustration, or a related field, along with a strong interest in motorsports. A balanced skill set that combines creative artistic development with thoughtful visual communication is highly valued.

A Horizon Hobby Graphic Designer artistically helps craft the visual stories behind our brands, products, and people. This cross-functional role will collaborate with multiple departments across the company, have strong interpersonal and communication as well as creative and design expertise. The position requires the ability to generate original artwork, translate real-world vehicle graphics into production-ready assets, and deliver designs that are both visually compelling and aligned with brand standards.


Roles/Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill design requests.
  • Develop creative design solutions alongside internal clients and members of the Creative Team.
  • Coordinate with the photography team to communicate image requirements for design projects.
  • Explore creative concepts while balancing brand guidelines and project constraints.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Research and understand product details and technologies when needed.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of our customers and target audiences.
  • Analyze and solve design challenges throughout project development.
  • Follow established departmental processes for proofing, project completion, and file archiving.
  • Prepare print-ready files according to vendor specifications and guidelines.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred; Associate degree required (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum two years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Passion for or involvement in RC or full-scale motorsports is highly preferred.
