Job Description

We are looking for a creative and visionary Graphic Design Intern to generate assets and graphics that will be used for our various social media channels, email newsletters, and e-commerce website. As a Graphic Design Intern, you will work closely with the Creative Director and Creative Team to create beautiful designs that are consistent with our internal branding guide and thel visual brand of the company. The internship is a total of 120 hours where 20 hours are for training from the County/City of Los Angeles on financial literacy and 100 hours are to work directly with the company. 

Specific Job Responsibilities: 

  • Using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) to create: 

    • Website assets and digital graphics (banners, advertisements), 

    • Social media graphics for Instagram and Facebook

    • Digital marketing assets (marketing decks and email newsletters)

  • Developing PRISM company print marketing collateral, including: tags, product packaging, informational flyers for packages that are consistent with our social mission 

  • Incorporating feedback into designs and editing drafts to ensure that final deliverables are visually appealing, carefully proof-read, and on-brand

  • Meeting an agreed-upon weekly quota for the creation of routine social media graphics and web graphics

  • Participating in occasional campaign photoshoots and contributing to digital lookbook development

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program, majoring in Art, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent professional experience with a portfolio)

  • Open to taking feedback on designs and iterate creatively and quickly to meet deadlines

  • Proficient with working knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva (a keen eye for typography a plus)

  • Ability to create videos and edit short videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok is highly desired, though not required 

  • Passionate about impact and women’s empowerment, as well as the sustainable fashion and accessories space

  • Enthusiastic, personable, and thrives under pressure, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

**Please note that this internship is offered as a partnership with the Bixel Exchange Tech Talent Pipeline’s Subsidized Internship Program. Bixel Exchange Tech Talent Pipeline’s Subsidized Internship Program places youth who live in the County of Los Angeles, are between the ages 18-24, and considered low income in internships with the companies we’ve partnered with. The internship is a total of 120 hours where 20 hours are for training from the County/City of Los Angeles on financial literacy and 100 hours are to work directly with the company. All positions are paid $15/hour. Youth can only participate in the program once each funding cycle (June-May), but have the option to participate again the following cycle. Currently, almost all the positions are remote, unless otherwise stated.

Process:
Once you interview with the company and are notified that you are selected, you will be connected to an American Job Center of California (AJCC) or a Youth Source Center (YSC) to fill out the required paperwork and bring proof of the following documents to the center: 1. Photo ID 2. Social Security Card 3. Proof of Address in County of LA.
