Adriana's "Growing Together" is seeking a grant writer. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting compelling grant proposals to secure funding from corporations, and government agencies. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s mission by generating sustainable revenue through strategic grant funding.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and passionate about advancing community-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify prospective grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and supporting documents
- Develop persuasive narratives that clearly articulate programs, impact, and funding needs
- Collaborate with leadership and program teams to gather data, budgets, and impact metrics
- Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and submissions
- Prepare grant reports and ensure compliance with funder requirements
- Track grant outcomes and maintain accurate records in CRM or database systems
- Build and maintain relationships with foundation and corporate partners
- Assist in developing fundraising strategies and annual development plans
Pay Rate: Starting $25-$30 per hour
RequirementsQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in grant writing or nonprofit development and 6 figure gifts
- Proven track record of securing foundation, corporate, or government funding (preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and grant databases
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and reporting standards
- Experience developing program budgets
- Familiarity with donor management systems (Salesforce, Bloomerang, etc.)
