The Internet lacks a protocol for money. Lightspark is building the tools and services to make it happen. Lightspark builds enterprise-ready infrastructure for open payments for the Internet at scale using the Lightning Network. An always-on, low-cost, universal payment network will completely transform how money is moved, enabling businesses and developers to transform existing solutions and build new financial systems, services, and processes accessible to everyone, transcending geographical restraints. Lightspark is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, but serves the world.

As Lightspark’s Global VP of Sales, you’ll be the commercial engine of the company—driving enterprise adoption, accelerating revenue, and building a world-class team. This high-impact leadership role drives top-line growth, defines GTM strategy, grows and nurtures the team, and builds trusted relationships and partnerships across financial institutions, wallets, and emerging global payout platforms. You’ll move quickly, lead by example, and obsess over winning deals that change the trajectory of our business.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and lead our global commercial strategy, targeting financial institutions, wallets, and platforms in need of modern, interoperable, and open global money movement.

  • Build a high-performance sales organization from the ground up—recruiting top-tier talent, setting aggressive but achievable targets, and creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and urgency.

  • Drive the full enterprise sales lifecycle—from outbound prospecting and rigorous qualification to high-stakes negotiations and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals, often involving regulated financial entities.

  • Design a repeatable, scalable sales motion, including customer segmentation, sales KPIs, comp plans, and structured pipeline management to ensure predictable, high-velocity growth.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and the Lightspark Leadership Team, to tightly align on GTM execution, feedback loops, and evolving product-market fit.

  • Establish a data-driven sales culture using tools (Hubspot, etc.), building rigorous reporting around key metrics like win rate, velocity, and time-to-close.

  • Represent Lightspark at the events all over the world, cultivating and converting relationships with C-level decision-makers across fintech, traditional finance, and emerging payout platforms.

  • Lead from the front—closing flagship accounts, setting the standard for excellence, and building a team that shares a deep bias for action, competitiveness, and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise sales, business development, or partnerships, with a proven track record of driving meaningful revenue growth and building high-performing, quota-carrying teams.

  • Extensive experience in global payments infrastructure, including a strong understanding of FX, disbursements, treasury, and compliance requirements—especially when selling into regulated financial institutions.

  • Proven success in selling complex solutions to banks, fintechs, digital wallets, and/or global payout platforms—navigating long sales cycles, multi-stakeholder environments, and regulatory constraints.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, early-stage environments, bringing clarity, urgency, and structure to ambiguity.

  • Excellent communicator—able to distill complex technical or financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives for executive and product audiences alike.

  • A self-starter with a relentless focus on outcomes—you lead from the front, move quickly, and consistently deliver results.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise sales methodologies, B2B funnels, customer segmentation, and modern sales tech stacks (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).

  • Highly collaborative and adept at building trust and alignment across cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.

  • Committed to building and leading a high-performance, results-driven culture—you set a high bar, push for excellence, and foster team accountability.

  • Comfortable with global travel to support key customers, drive deals, and represent Lightspark in strategic markets.

  • Passion and/or a strong familiarity with crypto, Bitcoin, is a plus—but not required if you bring deep domain knowledge in payments or financial infrastructure.

  • Ability to work on-site in our HQ in Los Angles California is ideal

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
