The Vice President of Pre-Sales will be responsible for leading and scaling a world-class global pre-sales organization. 

This executive will ensure that Camunda consistently wins technical decisions through high-performing local teams of Solution Architects, Sales Engineers, and Technical Partner Managers, while also establishing and scaling the Value Engineering function to showcase the quantifiable business value of adopting Camunda’s platform.

This is a strategic and high-impact role, working cross-functionally with sales, product, marketing, and customer success to ensure Camunda’s technical pre-sales motions and value propositions align with market needs and drive competitive differentiation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and Scale the Global Pre-Sales Organization: Oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of a global team of Solution Architects and Sales Engineers, ensuring the team effectively drives technical buy-in from customers. 

  • Build the Value Engineering Function: Establish and scale a value engineering team to develop business cases, quantify ROI and TCO, and create frameworks that clearly articulate the business impact of adopting Camunda’s solutions, generally and specifically within Camunda’s ICP. 

  • Support Strategic Sales Efforts: Collaborate with sales teams to support high-priority deals, ensuring customers’ technical and business needs are addressed and differentiating Camunda’s platform from competitors.

  • Develop Scalable Processes: Design and implement repeatable processes, tools, and methodologies that enhance pre-sales efficiency, align with company growth, and meet evolving customer demands, incl. Technical and use case demonstrations, rapid prototype development and customized but scalable proof of concepts.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure seamless collaboration between sales, product, engineering, and marketing to align technical pre-sales efforts with overall business goals and go-to-market strategies.

What you bring:

  • Proven Pre-Sales Leadership Experience: At least 10 years of experience in technical pre-sales, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global or regional teams.

  • Enterprise SaaS Expertise: Extensive experience driving technical engagement in complex, enterprise-level SaaS sales cycles.

  • Track Record in Value Engineering: Demonstrated ability to establish and lead a value engineering function, creating tools and methodologies for ROI, TCO, and business case development.

  • Leadership Excellence: Proven ability to attract, mentor, and retain high-performing global teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer focus.

  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Camunda or Automation Technology Experience: Familiarity with process automation platforms, including Camunda, or related technologies such as workflow orchestration or business process management systems.

  • MBA or Advanced Degree: An MBA or a technical graduate degree that enhances the ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes.

  • Global Market Experience: Experience operating in diverse global markets with a deep understanding of regional sales nuances.

  • Customer-Facing Executive Presence: Experience engaging directly with C-level executives in enterprise organizations to articulate technical and business value.

  • Cross-Functional Expertise: Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, aligning with marketing, product, engineering, and customer success teams to deliver results.

What We Have to Offer:

Compensation

We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location-based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition.

The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) shown below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range to allow room for growth:

  • United States: $284,000 to $426,000

  • Germany: €242,900 to €364,300

  • United Kingdom: £207,100 to £310,600

  • Singapore: S$352,800 to S$529,100

If you’re based elsewhere, you’ll be hired via Remote.com (our global employer partner), and your Talent Acquisition Partner will provide a personalized Total Rewards Calculator after your first interview.

Equity: We also offer equity (where applicable) through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
