Vonage is a global cloud communications leader that helps businesses accelerate their digital transformation through our fully programmable Unified Communications, Contact Center Applications, and Communications APIs.

Why this role matters:

Vonage is expanding its leadership in CPaaS through advanced Network API capabilities as part of the Ericsson Group. We are hiring a Global Sourcing Lead responsible for building and managing carrier and vendor partnerships that supply network APIs to Vonage. This role will define and execute Vonage’s sourcing strategy across global network operators, ensuring just-in-time access to both existing and emerging Network APIs that power Vonage’s product roadmap.

The position requires close coordination with Ericsson group stakeholders—including Aduna and other internal platform teams—to align sourcing activities across the broader group ecosystem.

Your responsibilities;

  • Own the sourcing strategy for Network APIs across carrier partners, vendors, and Ericsson group entities such as Aduna.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure access to carrier-provided APIs such as Quality on Demand, Silent Authentication, Location Services, and emerging capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain commercial agreements, pricing models, and supply frameworks that support scalable and flexible API integration.
  • Align sourcing priorities with Product, Engineering, and Sales leadership to ensure API supply meets business needs and customer demands.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with global CSPs, MNOs, industry alliances (e.g., GSMA Open Gateway), and Ericsson Group sourcing teams.
  • Monitor vendor performance, commercial terms, and operational delivery of API services to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Represent Vonage in industry forums and partner discussions, advocating for Vonage’s product and developer ecosystem needs in shaping carrier commercial models.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in vendor management, carrier sourcing, or telco partnerships within CPaaS, telecom, or platform businesses.
  • Expertise in structuring commercial agreements and managing long-term supply partnerships for network capabilities or APIs.
  • Familiarity with telecom network APIs (e.g., QoD, Silent Authentication, Location Services) and 5G ecosystem developments.
  • Experience coordinating sourcing strategies within multi-entity corporate groups, ideally including intragroup platforms such as Aduna.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across commercial, legal, product, and technical teams.
  • Analytical and strategic negotiation skills, able to balance cost, quality, and time-to-market considerations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
