Who We Are Looking For

Nike Global Brand Planning & Operations is seeking a Brand Commercial studio leader to drive the growth and transformation of our Icon global studio network. This is a rare opportunity for a recognized leader in studio operations, photography/video production, and creative strategy to oversee a world-class imaging studio and content production ecosystem that fuels Nike’s commercial brand product imaging at scale.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of both the creative and business demands of large-scale content production. This individual must have a proven ability to balance efficiency, scalability, brand distinction, and commercial payoff ensuring that the studio’s output remains best-in-class while operating at the speed and complexity of a global enterprise. This role requires expertise in studio management, high-volume asset production, financial stewardship, team leadership, and emerging imaging technologies to shape the future of how Nike content is created and delivered across all digital touch points, including owned, paid, and partner platforms.

What You Will Work On

As Senior Director of Icon Studios, Global, you will oversee the strategic direction and execution of Nike’s global studio network, ensuring that our content production ecosystem is optimized for scale, quality, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for end-to-end studio operations across three facilities, driving process innovation and ensuring that all creative production efforts align with Nike’s evolving brand and business needs.

A key focus of this role will be overseeing the studio budget that supports Nike’s expansive content demands. You will be responsible for optimizing resource allocation, managing financial performance, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies without compromising creative integrity. You will also lead new imaging processes and workflow advancements, ensuring that Nike’s content production capabilities remain at the forefront of industry innovation.

Beyond the studio walls, you will drive deep integration with Nike’s broader marketing and commerce ecosystem, ensuring that the content produced serves the needs of Nike Direct, Partners, Retail, Brand Creative, and Digital Marketing teams. This includes aligning production strategies with key brand initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and performance marketing efforts, ensuring that Icon’s studio operations and deliverables are both creatively compelling and business driven. Additionally, you will partner closely with Marketing Technology and Finance teams to evolve Nike’s imaging tools, and creative production infrastructure, leveraging data, automation, and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, enhance workflows, and future-proof our content operations.

Who You Will Work With

This role operates at the intersection of creative, marketing, technology, and business operations, requiring deep collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that content aligns with omni-channel commerce strategies, driving seamless consumer experiences across digital placements. You will also partner with brand creative and marketing teams, ensuring that all studio production efforts support Nike’s brand initiatives while delivering premium content at scale.

Additionally, you will work in close partnership with Nike’s global digital, paid media, and performance marketing teams, ensuring that creative assets are optimized for impact across all platforms. Given the complexity and scale of Nike’s creative operations, collaboration with marketing technology and finance leaders will be critical. You will play a key role in evolving Nike’s systems, integrating new tools that enhance speed, efficiency, and asset optimization.

Internally, you will lead a large, globally distributed team of imaging, logistics, planning, production, and post-production experts, ensuring that Nike’s Icon studio operations function as a high-performing, future-forward organization. As a leader of leaders, you will be responsible for developing top-tier talent, and fostering a culture of innovation and creative excellence across the entire studio network.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
