Pinterest is seeking a strategic and people-focused Global Mobility & Immigration Lead to deliver a best-in-class experience for our employees while expertly managing backend operations and driving critical initiatives across our global relocation and immigration programs. In this high-impact role, you will serve as both a trusted advisor—providing expert guidance to cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders—and a technical/operational manager who ensures seamless end-to-end execution. As the subject matter expert for all things mobility, you’ll be pivotal in elevating the employee journey, developing scalable and innovative solutions for our rapidly growing organization, supporting and influencing cross-functional projects, and championing operational excellence. Success in this role requires a blend of program and project management capabilities, strong advisory skills, hands-on operational execution, and the ability to build effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
- Program & Project Management
- Lead cross-functional programs and large-scale projects with company-wide impact, drive execution, and innovation across all dimensions of global mobility and immigration.
- Independently envision and translate the desired future state for programs, policies, and/or processes. Define objectives and project plans, with a focus on scalability and continuous improvement.
- Identify and analyze risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
- Serve as an advisor to senior leadership, making recommendations based on deep subject-matter expertise and market trends.
- Stakeholder, Partner, and Vendor Management
- Build and maintain top-tier partnerships with cross-functional teams (HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Equity, Talent, and others) to ensure alignment of strategic objectives and exceptional stakeholder experiences.
- Act as the primary contact for employees, managers, and business leaders on global mobility and immigration queries, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Manage and consult with external partners (immigration counsel, relocation vendors, tax providers) to drive accountability and support strategic initiatives.
- Mentor peers, support internal partners, and share expertise by formal and informal guidance, contributing to the technical growth of the organization.
- Strategic Alignment and Execution
- Align project/program plans and resource utilization with company strategy, proactively communicating and collaborating across teams for optimal outcomes.
- Host trainings, present updates, and communicate program enhancements to recruiters, HRBPs, and colleagues.
- Lead after-action reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Business Acumen & Decision Quality
- Assess business and employee needs, determining feasibility and compliance, and make confident decisions with a sense of urgency, leveraging sound judgment when navigating ambiguity.
- Leverage data analytics and reporting to identify trends, inform strategy, and drive process improvements.
- Operations
- Responsible for end-to-end case management of global mobility and immigration matters, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee cases. Execute key transactions, maintain documentation, trackers, and data accuracy.
- Ensure seamless execution of global mobility and immigration processes, policies, and documentation throughout the employee lifecycle, across all regions and cases.
- Continuously review company policies and external trends to enhance offerings and compliance.
- Champion compliance and risk mitigation in rapidly evolving regulatory environments, including global immigration laws and mobility policies.
- Drive after-action reviews and foster a culture of continuous feedback and operational improvement.
- Lead comprehensive risk assessments, design, and implement strategic risk mitigation plans aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Political Science, HR, Business, International Relations, Law, or other equivalent experience.
- 6 - 7+ years progressive experience in global mobility, immigration (U.S. and outside of the U.S.), and/or relocation management within a fast-paced, multinational environment. Preference for demonstrated expertise across all three areas.
- 2 - 3+ years experience in vendor management, with a proven track record of achieving high-quality results, meeting deadlines, and holding external partners accountable to performance standards.
- Demonstrated expertise leading large, complex, and ambiguous projects/programs with high impact across multiple countries and functions. Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage timelines and resources, proactively mitigate risks, and coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors. Proficient in utilizing project management tools and methodologies to monitor progress, ensure accountability, drive ongoing process improvements, and deliver high-quality results within established deadlines.
- Operationally rigorous with an exceptional ability to independently manage multiple, high-priority initiatives simultaneously, optimizing workflows and evolving best practices. Must excel at establishing and continuously optimizing workflows to ensure consistency and accuracy, while effectively prioritizing and juggling competing demands in a dynamic environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms (preferably Workday and Zendesk), with advanced proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel). Familiarity with leveraging a range of AI-powered support tools (such as ChatGPT, Helix, Glean, Gemini, etc.) to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
- Experience in organizational policy development, compliance assurance, and risk mitigation in a multinational context.
- Distinguished communicator adept at engaging with diverse audiences, influencing senior leaders, and distilling complex technical and regulatory topics for stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience independently managing end-to-end global mobility and/or immigration cases across multiple countries, including overseeing the full process from initiation through execution and resolution. Must demonstrate familiarity with a variety of case types, regulatory and compliance requirements, and best practices for delivering seamless support to internationally mobile employees.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international immigration laws, global mobility policies, and compliance requirements. Experience in proactively identifying and mitigating risks to support organizational goals in a complex, multinational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize dashboard reporting tools to track key mobility and immigration metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders through data-driven analysis.
- Track record of exercising sound judgment and make effective decisions in ambiguous, high-pressure, or complex situations. Maintaining composure and clarity while navigating uncertainty and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to effectively collaborate with and support individuals from diverse backgrounds, actively fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that values different perspectives and promotes belonging.
- Passion for continuous learning and growth, with a proactive approach to process improvement, and a track record for driving positive change within evolving or rapidly growing organizations.
