We are seeking a Director of Social Media to lead and evolve ŌURA’s global social presence into a high-performing, culturally fluent, and strategically integrated brand channel. This role will own the strategy, content direction, and execution of organic social and community management across platforms and markets—ensuring ŌURA shows up in ways that are distinctive, relevant, and aligned to business priorities.

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role, partnering closely with Creative, Paid Media, Communications, and the Director of Influencer Marketing to ensure social is embedded early into campaigns, aligned to brand strategy, and executed at a high creative standard globally.

You will lead a growing team across community and social, while shaping how ŌURA shows up in culture and builds meaningful connections with its global audience.

What You Will Do:
Own ŌURA’s Global Social Strategy & Channel Ecosystem
Define how ŌURA shows up across platforms and markets.

  • Own the global strategy across organic social channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and emerging platforms)
  • Define the role of each platform within the broader marketing ecosystem
  • Establish global frameworks for content, publishing cadence, and platform strategy while enabling local nuance
  • Ensure social is embedded early into campaign development to maximize cultural impact and reach
  • Define and lead the strategy for global vs. regional channel architecture, including when and how to expand into localized social handles across priority markets

Scale Global Community Management
Strengthen ŌURA’s relationship with its global member base through meaningful engagement and participation.

  • Oversee community strategy across platforms and regions, ensuring a consistent yet locally relevant voice
  • Build systems that enable scalable engagement, proactive participation, and deeper connection with members globally
  • Partner with MX team to connect community engagement with retention and customer experience outcomes
  • Ensure community insights are surfaced and integrated into global content, product storytelling, and brand strategy
  • Continue evolving community infrastructure to support growth across new markets and audiences
  • Leverage automation and emerging technologies, including AI, to scale community engagement efficiently while maintaining a high-quality, brand-aligned voice

Lead Commercial, B2B & Thought Leadership Presence
Define the role of social in supporting both consumer and commercial growth, ensuring distinct but complementary approaches across B2C and B2B audiences.

  • Define and scale ŌURA’s LinkedIn and thought leadership presence across science, clinical, and commercial narratives
  • Build and operationalize employee advocacy programs across regions, empowering internal experts as trusted voices
  • Partner with Commercial to support key verticals, partnerships,  and markets through strategic social activation
  • Establish the foundation for lead generation through content, engagement, and inbound pathways

Lead Content Direction & Creative Excellence
Shape a distinctive, high-quality, and culturally relevant social presence.

  • Own content direction for all organic social channels, setting the standard for storytelling, formats, and creative output
  • Partner closely with Creative to develop concepts that are platform-native, visually compelling, and differentiated
  • Identify cultural moments, platform behaviors, and emerging trends, translating them into ideas that resonate globally
  • Balance creative ambition with strategic intent, ensuring content drives both engagement and brand impact
  • Act as the final steward of what goes live across ŌURA’s social channels

Drive Experimentation, Measurement & Continuous Optimization
Build a test-and-learn culture that improves performance over time.

  • Establish a structured experimentation framework across platforms, formats, and content types
  • Continuously test new creative approaches, platform features, and content strategies to drive engagement and growth
  • Define success metrics and measurement frameworks for social performance, partnering with Analytics and Paid Media where needed
  • Translate performance data and community insights into actionable recommendations for content, creative, and channel strategy
  • Build feedback loops that ensure learnings are consistently applied across teams and markets

Lead Team, Operations & Cross-Functional Integration
Build and lead a high-performing global team while establishing clear systems, standards, and accountability.

  • Manage and develop a distributed team across community and social
  • Oversee agency partners across regions, ensuring consistency, quality, and performance
  • Establish scalable workflows, content systems, and operating rhythms across markets
  • Partner closely with the Director of Influencer Marketing to ensure alignment between organic content and creator programs
  • Serve as a key cross-functional leader across Creative, Paid Media, Communications, and Product
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience leading social media or digital content strategy at a consumer-facing brand or agency
  • Proven experience building and scaling global social media programs across multiple platforms
  • Strong creative instincts and experience guiding content strategy and production
  • Deep understanding of platform dynamics, cultural trends, and how content performs in algorithm-driven environments
  • Experience leading community management strategy and building engagement systems at scale
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Creative, Paid Media, Communications, and Product teams
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Experience managing agencies and multi-market programs
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience in health, wellness, or consumer technology is a plus

ŌURA takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $200,600 - $236,000
  • Region 2 $182,750 - $215,000
  • Region 3 $164,900 - $194,000
