The Opportunity

The Global Benefits Lead is a key member of the Total Rewards and Workforce Analytics team. This role serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for U.S. and Canadian benefits while supporting the execution and continued development of our global benefits strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards and Workforce Analytics, you will contribute insights and recommendations to benefits strategy, advise HR and business stakeholders, and translate strategy into effective programs, processes, and employee experiences. You will also provide direction to a Senior Analyst who supports employee inquiries and day-to-day North America benefits activities.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced benefits professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, global environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the administration of U.S. health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs.

  • Partner with the Director, Total Rewards and Workforce Analytics to develop and execute the global benefits strategy.

  • Coordinate global renewals, implementations, and ongoing benefits activities with regional HR teams, brokers, carriers, and vendors.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and escalation point for complex benefits and leave matters.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and global benefits requirements and coordinate updates resulting from regulatory changes.

  • Manage broker and vendor relationships, including renewals, service delivery, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.

  • Establish operational rigor through scalable processes, standard operating procedures, controls, and documentation.

  • Use data, technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and the employee experience.

  • Provide guidance to the Senior Analyst, Total Rewards and other HR Operations Team members responsible for local benefits administration for North America, EMEA and APAC. Oversee delegated benefits activities.

  • Contribute to periodic compensation initiatives, such as Workday testing, data validation, communication reviews, and special projects as business needs and capacity allow.

What You’ll Bring
  • At least seven years of progressive benefits or Total Rewards experience, including experience supporting multinational benefits programs.

  • Strong U.S. benefits administration and compliance expertise.

  • Experience administering both self-funded and fully insured health and welfare plans.

  • Experience supporting global benefits compliance, renewals, or implementations across multiple countries.

  • Experience managing brokers, carriers, consultants, and other benefits vendors.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop scalable processes, documentation, and operating practices.

  • Strong analytical, project management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday Benefits, Workday Compensation, or a comparable HRIS.

  • Experience supporting benefits programs in Canada, UK, the Netherlands, India, Australia, and Singapore.

  • CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or another relevant professional certification.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
