Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled GIS Web Designer/Developer/Administrator to design, develop, and manage web-based geospatial applications and enterprise GIS systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in GIS, web design, and application development to deliver innovative, user-friendly, and secure geospatial solutions that meet mission and stakeholder requirements outlined in the RFQ.The GIS Web Designer/Developer/Administrator will play a key role in building and maintaining enterprise GIS web applications, supporting geospatial data management, and ensuring system performance, security, and scalability.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web-based GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related technologies.
- Create interactive dashboards, story maps, and data visualization tools for diverse end users.
- Administer GIS servers, databases, and applications to ensure availability, reliability, and security.
- Integrate geospatial applications with enterprise IT systems and cloud-based services.
- Implement user-centered design principles to improve usability and accessibility of GIS applications.
- Support metadata development, documentation, and quality assurance for GIS web services and applications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance GIS web capabilities.
- Provide user training, outreach, and technical support to maximize adoption and effectiveness of GIS web applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Web Design/Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6+ years of professional experience in GIS web application design, development, and administration.
- 10+ years of experience required without a degree.
- Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and web mapping APIs (JavaScript, Python, REST).
- Experience administering GIS servers, web services, and spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Strong skills in web design, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive frameworks.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with federal agencies (DHS, DoD, USGS, NGA, or similar).
- Knowledge of federal geospatial standards and accessibility requirements.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience developing secure applications in compliance with cybersecurity standards (RMF, FedRAMP).
- Relevant technical certifications (Esri, AWS, Azure, web development).
