The Communications and Signal Analysis Department (CSAD) at The Aerospace Corporation performs analysis, modeling, simulation and prototyping in the areas of satellite microwave and laser communications, signal processing, microwave photonics, emitter geolocation and signal collection systems and techniques. CSAD is a component of the Communication Systems and Agile Processing Subdivision within the Mission Payloads Division. The department primarily supports the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), with additional customers from the U.S. Space Force, Civil agencies and other US government customers. CSAD aids our customers in developing and acquiring innovative systems in the areas of communications, signal interception, and signal processing for both space and terrestrial applications. We are looking for a senior specialist in emitter geolocation analysis and SIGINT systems engineering / data processing.
THIS IS A PART-TIME, CASUAL POSITION WITH LIMITED HOURS.

What You'll Be Doing
- Evaluate and develop signal simulators for geolocation, geolocation solvers, and their associated digital signal processing algorithms.
- Analyze and simulate geolocation systems.
- Represent the department and sub-division with technical presentations, oversee existing projects, and the ability to work effectively with our customers.
- Maintain and version control source-code libraries shared by collaborators within the company.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or another related discipline from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 20 years of relevant working experience after obtaining a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in emitter geolocation, national systems, numerical methods, numerical optimization, and digital signal processing
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SSBI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain this level of security clearance.
- Effective communication, documentation and presentation skills.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated competence in understanding state-of-the-art numerical methods, numerical optimization, digital signal processing, and geolocation techniques.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, simulating communications or radar signals
- Specific experience in the following:
- Signal Detection and Estimation
- Electromagnetic Signal Propagation
- Link Analysis
- Current and active TS/SSBI
