 You will be responsible for:

  • Lead and support the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient financial reporting.
  • Reconcile complex accounts, including intercompany transactions and subsidiary ledgers, while maintaining a strong grasp of accrual accounting and its financial impact.
  • Manage multi-entity reporting, including consolidations and eliminations, ensuring accuracy across all entities.
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between financial statements and forecasts, providing flux analysis and insightful financial narratives that explain business trends and variances.
  • Support and drive process improvements to enhance financial operations, automation, and efficiency as the company scales.
  • Assist in evaluating, designing, and implementing process enhancements, ensuring financial and operational workflows evolve to meet the demands of a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Contribute to special projects, including M&A activity, financial research, decision support, and ad hoc strategic initiatives.
  • Support external audits by preparing and providing required documentation, reconciliations, and analysis.

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, CPA is preferred
  • 5-8 years progressive finance experience with advance understanding of GAAP and grasp of financial statements
  • Strong experience with multi-entity accounting, reporting and consolidations required
  • Relentless attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to new challenges.
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and defining the agenda
  • Proficiency in ERP software, preferably NetSuite, and Excel (i.e. LOOKUPs, Data tables, pivot tables, etc.) required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in NetSuite, including modules like GL, AP, AR, and reporting tools
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting
  • Accrual accounting knowledge, especially for SaaS business models (e.g., prepaid expenses, deferred revenue)
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation templates)
  • Proclivity for system integrations and process optimization

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
