Job Description

The Department 

The Games Department represents the leading independent developers and studios in the video game industry. Their business revolves around securing financing and distribution for games, representing game IP for film and television adaptations, and facilitating conversations with game publishers, investors, acquirers, and IP holders. The team’s expertise is in augmenting the business development capabilities of games studios, publishers, and teams by providing consulting and deal-making services, from ideation to launch of a title or initiative, across all aspects of production, marketing, execution, and IP.   

 

The Role 

CAA is seeking an Assistant to support a senior agent within its Games department. The ideal candidate is passionate about and familiar with games, platforms, game trends, and games IP, along with an interest in strategically planning businesses and helping our client companies grow. An ideal candidate can speak fluently across all sectors of the entertainment industry since Games IP increasingly intersects with other areas. 

 

Responsibilities   

  • Administrative duties include heavy communication via email and chat, calendar management, scheduling travel, booking reports, expense reports, and general office management tasks 
  • Serve as first point of contact with clients, Agents and Industry Executives 
  • Track and meticulously maintain grids of current and prospective clients, projects, deals and execute excellent follow-up and follow through 
  • Assist with special projects, research opportunities related to CAA clients and tech trends, and compile information as needed 
  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities and trends for our clients 
  • Work collaboratively and cross-departmentally over all verticals of the agency  

 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ months of administrative assistant experience 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams, comfortable with Slack and Discord 
  • Familiarity with most cloud service providers 
  • Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects and expectations; and maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities 
  • Must have a passion for video games and an aptitude of curiosity when it comes to the digital media landscape; eager to understand emerging technology as it relates to storytelling and content 
  • Positive, forward-thinking, can-do attitude 
  • Attention to detail, meticulous organization and problem-solving skills are a must 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality 
  • Polished written and verbal communication  
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and adjust easily to changing priorities 
  • Team oriented and able to communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels 
  • A background in economics or finance a plus, not required 
  • BA/BS Degree preferred 

 

Compensation: 

The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $20.00 - $22.00. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, wages may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
