Business Unit

What the Role Entails

Lightspeed Studios looking for a gameplay design intern to help establish and implement the core gameplay experience of a third person AAA open world action game. Combining both single and multiplayer, this is a hands-on role that utilizes a combination of Unreal 5 and proprietary technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design gameplay features and content from initial concepts through written specs, implementation, iteration and completion
  • Design and create gameplay features, systems, and mechanics for a AAA open world game.
  • Hands-on implementation and tuning of features and content in Unreal
  • Design, develop, and playtest gameplay tools and processes alongside the technical and animation team.

    Who We Look For

    • Experience in tuning and balancing gunplay
    • Experience in crafting melee combat mechanics and tuning combat animations to make 3Cs “feel” good
    • Experience in design, implementation, troubleshoot and tuning of Player 3Cs and traversal mechanics
    • Must be fluent with Unreal Editor and Blueprint scripting; text-based scripting experience is a plus.
    • Experience in designing combat gameplay based on mo-cap performances; experience in directing mo-cap performance is a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey difficult and abstract concepts to all disciplines

    The expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $23.38 to $40.39 per hour. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position will be eligible for 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and up to 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, full-time interns are also eligible to enroll in the Company-sponsored medical plan.
