As a Game Designer II on the League of Legends ARAM: Mayhem team, you will design and deliver world-class game modes and experiences that surprise and delight players. You will design systems and content that serve core and prospective League of Legends players in ARAM: Mayhem and adjacent experiences. You will be an expert in how to improve the experience in live modes to enhance ARAM: Mayhem and beyond. We are looking for Designers who understand League of Legends and ARAM: Mayhem and are passionate about building upon these experiences to create novel and innovative play and help define what these experiences are meant to be for our players. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design innovative new game modes that let players experience League of Legends in new ways
  • Work with other disciplines to take content and features from conception to our players’ hands.
  • Script and prototype shippable content and features
  • Explore and pitch new design spaces in collaboration with Product Managers and Design Leadership. 
  • Collaborate with partner teams such as Insights & Narrative to deliver a high quality game experience across all of its different vectors.
  • Create and provide multiple potential designs and solutions. Articulate trade-offs and risks between different options. 
  • Playtest League of Legends and help push for continued improvements for existing designs and fresh prototypes.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience designing games in a multiplayer space.
  • Proven ability to maintain content fantasy satisfaction while balancing numerically.
  • Strong audience understanding and player empathy across skill level and across diverse motivations
  • Understand the effects of how complex and interconnected systems work together, and how to generate those systems and generate content within those systems.
  • Understands how to create content that optimizes for audience and understands fantasy of stated design
  • Can take and deliver feedback in a constructive manner
  • Ability to predict outcomes of game design decisions on players and other content
  • Strong understanding of League of Legends gameplay content, including champions, items, runes, and map objectives.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Has worked on cross-disciplinary projects to execute on a shared vision
  • Scripting, modding or other technical skills
  • Deep level of passion and engagement with a wide variety of games and game genres
  • Experience developing for multiple distinct audiences and motivations
