Job Summary:

Join our Funds Finance Group, a team dedicated to supporting private equity funds in all sectors including but not limited to real estate, power, infrastructure, and credit. We specialize in providing capital call facilities that help bridge the gap between investments and the receipt of equity commitments from limited partners. These lines of credit are crucial during the fundraising period, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the fund's financial needs.

As an Associate, you will assist portfolio managers in underwriting and managing a portfolio of loans and lines of credit for private equity fund clients. Your role will involve evaluating creditworthiness, managing your own loan portfolio, and providing tailored financial solutions to meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Underwriting & Portfolio Management:

  • Provide support for underwriting, structuring and completing all approval requests.

  • Initiate and ensure completion of all required loan documents and agreements.

  • Conduct ongoing credit monitoring to ensure highest credit quality of assigned portfolio.

  • Recognize / communicate potential credit quality issues within the bank.

  • Work as part of a team to deliver both credit products and non-credit services to clients and prospects.

  • Call regularly on existing clients to obtain information that supports borrowers risk profile and obtains information necessary for effective credit monitoring.

  • Work as the underwriting officer on syndicated credits where bank is the agent. Identify cross-selling opportunities to meet income generation goals.

2. Risk Management:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to the current regulatory environment; adhere to the bank's risk vision, and risk management policies and programs

  • Recognize and proactively address risk (including but not limited to those associated with Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, consumer compliance, fair lending, fiduciary responsibilities, and privacy).

  • Ensure top quality data input in all bank systems.

Skills & Experience:

  • 3 or more years of work experience within a financial institution including credit underwriting, structuring and portfolio management, experience in funds finance is a plus.

  • Requires a BA, BS or equivalent work experience. MBA/CFA is a plus.

  • Experience working with syndicated or multi-bank credit facilities is a plus.

  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, negotiate and manage credit transactions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships jointly with the Relationship Manager.

  • Proficiency in relevant software including Microsoft Office.

Compensation and Benefits:

The typical base pay range for this role is between $100k-$175k depending on level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location with eligibility for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
