Achievable, a fully remote edtech startup based in San Francisco, needs help with marketing writing! If you're looking to learn content marketing and blog post writing skills quickly in a fast-paced startup environment, work flexible hours, build out your resume, and be responsible for far more than your typical internship, this role could be a great fit.

About the role

In this role, you will be a part of the marketing team working on important, public-facing projects. You'll report directly to our marketing lead, Cassandra. This is an opportunity to own your own marketing projects for a real, venture-backed company with tens of thousands of paying customers annually.

You will be working on informative, well-produced blog posts, including guest posts on other sites. You will research and write these posts, and your name will be associated with them permanently for future reference.

We are open to part-time and full-time internships, and are happy to work with college students or people with other jobs, so long as you stay on top of your work.

About us

Achievable is a small EdTech startup. Our focus today is on test preparation for high-stakes exams, like the GRE for graduate school admissions, the FINRA Series licenses for careers in wealth management, and the USMLE exam for medical doctors. Our long-term mission is to help people unlock opportunity in their lives more broadly, guiding them through their lifelong journey of education, employment, and career advancement.

We're a small team and an entirely remote company. We're comfortable working with people internationally. As long as we communicate effectively, maintain a high quality level, and meet our deadlines, you can complete the work from anywhere and at any time you prefer. We'll work closely together, collaborating through Slack, code reviews, and Google Meet meetings, depending on timezone and availability.

How to apply

Please email [email protected] with your resume, a brief cover letter, and examples of your writing. Bonus points if you can share marketing-related writing; otherwise, school work or other projects you have completed are also acceptable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
