Who We Are

ProductNow builds AI teammates that eliminate coordination overhead in product teams. We help teams stay aligned, make better decisions, and move faster—together.

What makes ProductNow different is that we’re multiplayer-first. We’re not building tools just to make individuals faster, but systems that help entire teams think, decide, and execute as one.

We’re a team of experienced builders and industry leaders from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Palantir, Adept, and Verkada. We work on the problems we’re solving every day—and we’re building ProductNow for ourselves.

If you’re excited about tackling real coordination challenges, building intelligent systems, and learning how high-impact products get built at scale, you’ll feel at home here.

About the Role

This is a 12-week summer software engineering internship working closely with ProductNow’s founding team and senior engineers who have built and scaled complex products in production environments.

As an intern, you’ll contribute directly to production systems used by enterprise teams. Your work will have real impact and will be held to the same engineering standards as full-time contributions.

You’ll work across the product stack, contributing to backend services, frontend experiences, and AI-powered functionality. You'll also gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from early design and customer input through deployment and iteration.

In addition to hands-on engineering, you’ll participate in product discussions, design reviews, and customer conversations, gaining firsthand experience in how small teams build and evolve complex, high-impact systems.

What You'll Do
  • Build and ship end-to-end product features across the stack, contributing to frontend interfaces, backend services, and APIs used by enterprise teams.

  • Work on collaborative document experiences, including real-time multiuser editing and workflows that support both human teammates and AI agents.

  • Develop AI-enhanced review and feedback tools that help teams synthesize input, surface disagreements, and reach alignment more efficiently.

  • Integrate with external tools (e.g., project management or communication platforms) to bring relevant context into documents automatically.

  • Design and implement features that turn aligned decisions into clear next steps and executable actions.

  • Own projects through the full development lifecycle and collaborate closely with product and design partners to deliver intuitive, reliable, and scalable user-facing experiences.

What You Bring
  • Ability to work from ProductNow’s HQ during Summer 2026.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with an expected graduation date of June 2027 or later.

  • Prior experience building software through internships, research, or substantial project work.

  • Comfort working with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Next.js) and one backend framework (e.g., Node.js, Django, or similar), with some familiarity with databases and API design.

  • Interest in building user-facing features and iterating based on real feedback.

  • A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented engineering environment.

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new technologies as project needs evolve.

We don’t expect you to have experience with everything listed above—strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn matter most.

Intern Benefits
  • Competitive pay for the duration of the internship

  • Daily lunch, dinner and stocked snacks when working from the office.

  • Direct mentorship from senior engineers and founders, with frequent feedback and support

  • Meaningful exposure to customers, including opportunities to observe or participate in user conversations and product feedback sessions.

  • Learning sessions with company leadership, offering perspective on building products, teams, and companies from the ground up.

  • Team activities and events, ranging from informal outings to fun off-sites, designed to build strong connections across everyone at ProductNow.

  • A small, focused intern cohort (2 interns), ensuring high ownership, close collaboration, and real impact.

Location & Work Authorization
  • Location: Hybrid - we’re in the office in Palo Alto, CA near the Caltrain station from Tuesday to Thursday, with Mondays and Fridays remote.

  • Work Authorization: At this time, we are unable to sponsor new visas, but we encourage you to check back soon, as this may change.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
