Who is Boulevard?

Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.

Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.

We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.

Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.

Come do the best work of your life at Boulevard.

Boulevard’s engineering teams have an exciting imperative to build world-class customer experiences that power the next generation of salons
and spas to enable everyone to look and
feel their best. We are hiring multiple fullstack engineers from the senior to staff level. Through our interview process, we will assess a candidate's level and technical expertise to identify the best team fit.

Each team at Boulevard owns a specific domain, such as onboarding, payments, customer experiences, or Salesforce platform customization. Expect to work in an environment utilizing Elixir (experience not required!), Postgres, GraphQL, React, Typescript, AWS, and Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Components, and integrations.

The ideal candidate has a passion for building great customer experiences and strong ownership from inception to deployment and beyond. Working closely with the Product Manager, Designer, and Product Marketing Manager, you will play a crucial role in building exceptional products and achieving significant outcomes. Your diligence in developing scalable, performant, and maintainable systems goes hand in hand with creating a motivating environment for everyone to excel in their work.

Note: BLVD is a Mac only environment.

What you’ll do here:

  • Lead large initiatives within your squad in partnership with Product and Design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on revenue operations and order-to-cash workflows at scale, leveraging Salesforce to optimize billing, invoicing, and payment processes.
  • Partner closely with our Payment System teams, including integrating Stripe for seamless transaction handling and financial operations.

What you’ll need to thrive:

  • 5+ years of full-stack experience building well-architected systems at scale.
  • Experience with payment systems (Stripe preferred) and experience in integrating and maintaining financial workflows, including invoicing, billing, and subscription management.
  • Track record of ownership and delivery of complex projects, including partnering with stakeholders to define and scoping requirements and to deliver incremental value to the business and customers.
  • Desire to work in a high-velocity environment, continuously learning, and mastering your craft.
  • A strong knowledge of CRM processes, data modeling, and security best practices is essential

How we’ll take care of you:

Your starting budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $165,000 and $235,000, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This total compensation range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.

In addition to the wonderful people you’ll get to work with and challenging projects that’ll push you - Boulevard is here to make sure you’re always at the top of your game emotionally, mentally, and physically.

  • ✨ We’ve got you covered with a 401(k) match plus dental, medical, vision, and life insurance.

  • 🏝 Take a break whenever you need with our flexible vacation day policy.

  • 🖥 Fully remote so you can choose where you want to work. You’ll receive a work from home stipend every month.

  • 💚 Family planning resources and specialized support programs.

  • 🔮 Equity: get ahead on the ground floor and grow with Boulevard.

  • 💅 Boulevard Bucks Learning and Development program allows employees to explore businesses in the market we serve.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
