Gravity is a venture-backed startup that helps industrial businesses and their supply chain partners manage and reduce their carbon footprint. Our software platform makes it smooth for companies to measure their emissions, reduce energy costs, decarbonize their operations, and promote their efforts. Our mission is to accelerate industrial decarbonization. And it's working: beyond carbon measurement, Gravity has identified and implemented tax rebates, energy efficiencies, on-site assessments, and more for our global customer base.

The team hails from generational startups like Samsara, Tableau, and Flexport. Gravity's investors have funded legendary companies in both software and hardware, and sit on the boards of public renewables and battery companies. We even have tight links back to the roots of the EPA. (you'll have to ask about that one!)

About the role

Gravity will make the most impact by having the best product, and is on a mission to build the best engineering team. We are looking for frontend and full stack engineers who want to help us build a vibrant tech organization. Gravity hires engineers with broad technical skills, who are cross-functional and eager to solve a range of challenges. 

Our ideal candidate has a track record of building scalable systems, a strong sense of ownership, and enjoys owning projects from idea to production scale.

At this stage, technical moats do not exist. The essence of the job is to ship relentlessly at high velocity, managing carefully-controlled tech debt over an extended period.

In 3 months in the role, you will have:

• Built several major features and a dozen minor ones in a self-directed way

• Collaborated extensively Product, Design, and Climate Strategy departments

• Lead discussions and planning of multiple complex projects

• Pushed changes in real-time in response to errors or customer feedback

• Improved processes, tools, and systems that allow us to scale the codebase and team
  

You need:

• Urgency, agency, customer obsession

• Ability to turn business ideas into engineering solutions

• Full-stack fearlessness, ideally including infrastructure (AWS via Terraform)

• Excellent communication

• Track record of shipping high-quality products in record time. For most candidates, this means 5+ YOE.

• Design taste is a big plus
