The Front End Web Developer will implement SEO optimizations, execute website updates across various CMS platforms, and collaborate with an internal SEO team to enhance client websites.
Community Boost seeks a skilled Front End (SEO Implementation Specialist) to support client-facing web initiatives. This contractor will work alongside our SEO team to implement technical and on-page optimizations across client websites. This role is hands-on with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Wix, and popular page builders like Elementor. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, SEO-savvy, and comfortable solving technical challenges and working independently within defined project scopes.
Responsibilities
- Execute front-end website updates across platforms like WordPress, Webflow, Wix and Squarespace, including layout adjustments, styling refinements, and content formatting. Contractor will ensure all edits are responsive, accessible, and aligned with client branding.
- Optimize landing pages and blog content for SEO, including integration of target keywords, metadata updates, header structure, internal linking strategies, image updating and formatting for readability. Contractor will deliver SEO-enhanced blog drafts or publish-ready content per SEO project guidelines.
- Update Main Navigation and Footer Navigation elements.
- Implement technical SEO improvements such as nofollow directives, schema markup, image compression, site speed enhancements, and mobile responsiveness. Fix broken internal/external links and canonical errors. The contractor will document changes and provide before/after performance benchmarks when applicable.
- Collaborate with the internal SEO team to clarify project scopes, timelines, and feedback loops. The contractor will maintain proactive communication and adapt deliverables based on capabilities.
- Ensure accessibility and UX best practices are upheld in all web edits, including alt text, navigation clarity, and mobile usability. The contractor will flag any systemic issues and suggest improvements.
- Upon identifying technical issues, the Contractor will troubleshoot and present structured findings with prioritized recommendations to the Head of SEO.
- Maintain documentation and version control for all changes made, including links to updated pages, summaries of edits, and rationale for SEO decisions. The contractor will submit weekly or project-based logs as agreed.
Qualifications
- 3 years of proven experience in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript).
- Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices (schema, canonicalization, crawlability, site speed).
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, WebFlow, Wix, and Squarespace).
- Familiarity with nonprofit sector websites and mission-driven organizations.
- Experience with WordPress page builders and SEO plugins (Elementor, Divi, Yoast, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in Asana (Project Management tool).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
