We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Specialist to join xAI’s Human Data team, where you will play a critical role in creating cutting-edge datasets to train, benchmark, and advance large language models. In this role, you will collaborate with technical staff to curate high-quality code examples, refine AI-generated code, and enhance enterprise-level AI-driven coding solutions. By leveraging your expertise in front-end development and data annotation across text, voice, and video formats, you will help teach AI models about human interactions, reactions, and problem-solving approaches. Ideal candidates are adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving innovation in a fast-paced environment to support xAI’s mission of building a trusted global digital public square.
Responsibilities- AI model training initiatives by curating code examples, offering precise solutions, and meticulous corrections in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, Rust and Go. The Front-End Specialist will focus on any and all Enterprise aspects, as listed in ‘Required Qualifications’ section.
- Evaluate and refine AI-generated code, ensuring it adheres to industry standards for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance AI-driven coding solutions, ensuring they meet enterprise-level quality and performance benchmarks.
- 5+ years of professional front-end development experience building responsive, user-facing web applications.
- Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with modern frameworks: React, Vue, Angular.
- Solid understanding of component lifecycle, hooks and state management.
- Expertise in CSS, Tailwind, responsive design, UI interactions and animations.
- Experience with performance optimization: lazy loading, caching strategies, asset optimization.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA roles, keyboard navigation).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices for web applications.
- Strong debugging skills using browser DevTools and performance monitoring tools.
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, Playwright).
- Understanding of APIs and client-server communication (REST, GraphQL).
- The ideal candidate for this role is adaptable, possesses strong logical reasoning skills, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience integrating analytics, monitoring and front-end security best practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
- Knowledge of backend technologies (python, Node.js, APIs, databases, authentication, etc.) to enable effective full-stack collaboration.

$35/hour - $100/hour
The posted pay range is intended for U.S.-based candidates and depends on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications. For international candidates, our recruiting team can provide an estimated pay range for your location.
