About the Role

We’re looking for a versatile and thoughtful Front End Engineer to help shape and build the user-facing experience of a security-focused web application. You’ll collaborate closely with a cross-functional team including back-end developers, designers, and AI engineers to translate complex data and workflows into a clear, polished, and performant interface. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a knack for modern UI patterns, and a passion for engineering elegant front-end solutions that support enterprise-grade users.

This is a deeply collaborative role, requiring both creative intuition and strong technical judgment. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions and help create a modular, maintainable, and extensible front-end foundation.

Day to Day
  • Build out core UI components and user flows for a modern web app used by security-conscious professionals
  • Translate wireframes and visual designs into responsive, accessible, production-ready front-end code
  • Collaborate with backend and AI teams to wire up live data, APIs, and edge cases
  • Co-develop UI/UX flows with a designer — contribute ideas and feedback proactively
  • Shape key front-end architecture decisions around component reuse, state management, and performance
  • Write clean, maintainable code with an eye toward readability, testing, and long-term scalability
  • Continuously improve user experience through thoughtful iteration and usability feedback loops
What You Bring to the Table
  • 5+ yeas of experience with modern JavaScript or TypeScript front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte)
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility best practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across design, AI, and backend teams
  • Experience working with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar) and interpreting design systems
  • Familiarity with front-end performance tuning, testing strategies, and build pipelines
  • Comfort with ambiguity, evolving specs, and the fast pace of an early-stage build
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, constructive, and thoughtful in both written and verbal interactions
Extra Credit
  • Experience building enterprise dashboards, policy editors, or data-heavy visualizations
  • Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure front-end development patterns
  • Exposure to collaborative design thinking or user research
  • Prior work in security, AI tooling, developer platforms, or B2B SaaS

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
