Supervises front desk staff and supports the Front Desk Manager in delivering professional guest service. Responsibilities include coordinating with hotel departments, reviewing room discrepancies and rates, processing payments and charges, maintaining reservations and billing accuracy, scheduling and documenting staff activities, training guest service agents, handling special requests, and ensuring safety, security, confidentiality, and hotel compliance standards.
What will I be doing?
The Front Desk Supervisor is to assist the Manager of Front Desk by overseeing the responsibilities of the Front Desk staff. Motivate all front office team members to ensure the standards of excellence are achieved. Participate in all tam members meeting, events and other functions within the hotel. Work closely with the housekeeping department ensuring vacant and occupied rooms are reported in a timely manner. Ensuring the Guest are being serviced in a professional and competent manner.
Detail Job Duties
- Communicates with the other departments regarding any request from guests.
- Checks AM and PM room discrepancy reports
- Has a working knowledge of the POS system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often. i.e. rebooting of restaurant, parking and key systems.
- Can perform all of the front desk functions including front desk agent, reservations, bell person and security.
- Knows how and where to post charges.
- Received money from guests for payment of hotel charged and makes correct change.
- Checks rate report to ensure all are being charged accordingly.
- Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- Ensures proper staffing levels of front desk agents by assisting the Front Desk Manager in preparing weekly schedule and maintaining proper documentation (time cards, disciplinary forms and reviews)
- Assists the Front Manager by handling special requests, group blocking if necessary and unusual circumstances.
- Trains all new Guest service agents.
- Ensures proper documentation payment method are on each guest reservation, and ensures correct billing is set up, ensure confidentiality of guest information.
- Maintains high standards of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
- Wears a name tag at all times when working. Maintains a professional, helpful and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Must be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with guests, vendors, co-workers and fellow management.
- Must adhere to all compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Establishes and maintains good communication with all departments and their team members within the hotel.
- Promotes the spirit of teamwork throughout the hotel.

- Must have two years of Front Desk Supervisor experience.

- The employee might need to assist in with Guest luggage using the Luggage Cart.
