We are presently looking for a Freelance Video Editor specializing in vertical short form and longform editing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Adobe Premiere/AE, comfortable with tight timelines, and experienced in delivering polished, high-quality content.

Responsibilities
Working in collaboration with COURIER’s Video Director and creative team, the Consultant will provide professional post-production services to support the development and delivery of high-quality video content.
Key services include:
- Edit raw footage, focusing on storytelling and pacing.
- Seamlessly integrate visual and audio elements including sound design to produce cohesive final edits.
- Implement feedback quickly from creatives and reporters on deadlines.
- Experiment with different edit versions as directed.
- Maintain organized project files and assets in alignment with COURIER’s production workflows and shared systems.
- Conduct professional Color Grading and Sound Mixing.
- Identify issues and collaborate to course correct.
- Communicate post-production needs and concerns to support smooth project delivery.
- Deliver final video assets according to agreed timelines and evolving production priorities.
The ideal candidate will have some of the following:
- 3+ years experience working in a professional environment on vertical shorts or youtube longform content
- Expert knowledge of Mac OS and Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, Frame.io, Asana, Slack
- Experience with designing and laying in GFX/VFX pertaining to caption files.
- Advanced knowledge of Post-Production process
- Experience in storytelling and pacing specific to vertical shorts and Youtube longform content
- Strong sense of timing, rhythm, and the ability to create tension and humor as appropriate.
- Experience working with journalists, correspondents, and creatives to shape the direction and tone of a project.
- Emphasis on organization and attention to detail.
- Proactive, positive team player, able to provide timely consulting on projects from ingest to delivery
