About Slickdeals:

We believe shopping should feel like winning. That’s why 10 million people come to Slickdeals to swap tips, upvote the best finds, and share the thrill of a great deal. Together, our community has saved more than $10 billion over the past 26 years.

We’re profitable, passionate, and in the middle of an exciting evolution—transforming from the internet’s most trusted deal forum into the go-to daily shopping destination. If you thrive in a fast-moving, creative environment where ideas turn into impact fast, you’ll fit right in.

Project Overview:

We’re looking for U.S.-based social media content creators to partner with us on short-form, deal-focused video content for Slickdeals.

This is a great fit for creators who are quick, comfortable on camera, and can turn around engaging, informative videos on tight timelines.

What You'll Create:

  • 40–80 second videos highlighting a specific deal or deal-related content (eg, shopping events, multiple deals at a retailer, deal categories, etc)
  • Shot either:
    • On camera (talking head)
    • With a simple background (green screen or deal imagery behind you)
  • Some basic editing is required:
    • No graphics
    • No lower thirds
    • No captions/chyrons
  • We will handle final editing and post-production

How it Works:

  • We provide:
    • The deal or topic
    • Key details / parameters (not a full script)
  • You create:
    • A clear, engaging, conversational video explaining the deal or topic
  • Turnaround:
    • Varies depending on content needed; sometimes as short as 6 hours from assignment to delivery, sometimes as long as a week is acceptable. Flexibility is critical.

Ongoing Opportunity:

  • Selected creators may receive up to 1–2 video assignments per week
  • Work is as-needed / at-will (no guaranteed volume)

Who You Are:

  • U.S. based creator
  • Comfortable on camera with strong presence and clarity
  • Casual, natural presence, credible, approachable
  • Able to quickly interpret direction and create without a full script
  • Reliable with fast turnaround times
  • Familiar with TikTok/Reels-style content (natural, not overproduced)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience creating UGC for brands
  • Ability to vary tone (urgent deal, informative, enthusiastic, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of what makes a “good deal” compelling
  • Understanding of what makes compelling content for different social media platforms

Additional Notes:

  • Final candidates may be asked to complete a paid test video
  • Content will be used across Slickdeals-owned channels (paid + organic)
  • We’re looking for creators who sound like a deal-obsessed friend—clear, helpful, a little opinionated, and straight to the point
  • Subject to background check
  • $30-$150 per video, depending on experience and requested style of video

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
