THE ROLE

We're looking for a Freelance Social Media Analyst who is passionate about social media, internet culture, consumer behavior, and using data to help brands make smarter decisions. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, strategy, social platforms, and culture. You'll partner with our growing Analytics team by helping deliver reporting, uncover insights, and ensure our clients have a clear understanding of how their brands are performing across social.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about social analytics. You enjoy digging into data, identifying patterns, monitoring online conversations, and learning how performance translates into strategic recommendations. You're comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with experienced strategists and analysts in a fast-paced, social-first agency environment.

You'll help lead monthly reporting, campaign analysis, social listening, audience insights, and recurring measurement across a wide range of brands. As our client roster continues to grow, you'll provide ongoing analytical lead across multiple client engagements while helping our reporting operations scale without sacrificing the quality, consistency, and strategic thinking our clients expect. Our clients hire us to push them toward tomorrow, and you'll help make that possible by turning data into meaningful insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, campaign, and always-on reporting across multiple client accounts.
  • Connect and maintain client social accounts across reporting and analytics platforms including Sprout Social, Rival IQ, Tubular, Brandwatch, and similar tools to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Lead with social listening, audience analysis, engagement reporting, creator performance tracking, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Maintain recurring reporting dashboards, benchmarks, scorecards, and reporting workflows.
  • Monitor platform trends, consumer behavior, internet culture, and emerging conversations to identify actionable insights.
  • Review and quality control large quantities of raw data from junior teams
  • Lead Strategists, Account teams, and Analytics leads with ad hoc reporting, campaign analysis, and performance requests.
  • Perform quality assurance across reporting deliverables to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Organize and maintain internal analytics resources, benchmarks, reporting templates, and insight repositories.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, organization, and scalability.
  • Embrace Movers+Shakers' approach to social-first measurement, curiosity, and data-driven storytelling.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in social analytics, digital marketing, performance measurement, research, or a related field through agency, freelance, consulting, or in-house experience.
  • Passion for social media, internet culture, creator ecosystems, and understanding what drives online conversations.
  • Familiarity of in-app social media reporting including how to navigate and provide work around for challenges such as TikTok API limitations
  • Highly skilled with social analytics and listening platforms such as Sprout Social, Rival IQ, Tubular, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and communicate insights clearly.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, organizing data, and learning new reporting platforms and measurement tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment while working independently.
  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and continuously develop analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Curiosity about emerging social platforms, consumer behavior, and the evolving digital landscape.
