Freelance Photo Retoucher

ANINE BING is seeking a Freelance Photo Retoucher to support our Creative Services team on a contract basis, working primarily with our Los Angeles–based creative stakeholders.

This freelance engagement is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of ANINE BING. As a key external contributor supporting our Los Angeles–based creative operations, the Photo Retoucher will provide retouching services for assigned e-commerce imagery—both on-model and packshot—supporting our global digital and retail presence while staying true to the brand’s refined, modern aesthetic.

We’re looking for a detail-driven visual expert with a strong technical foundation and a highly developed eye for color, consistency, and polish. This is a freelance contract engagement. In-office collaboration may be required as needed to reference physical samples and ensure color accuracy (estimated 2–3 days per week, with scheduling coordinated independently).

Responsibilities Include: 

• Retouch e-commerce and product imagery, including masking, compositing, shadow creation, cleanup, cloning, and cropping
• Lead end-to-end retouching for e-commerce assets (on-model and packshot), ensuring timely and consistent delivery
• Execute and uphold brand retouching standards to minimize review rounds and maintain visual cohesion across channels
• Perform precise color correction and color matching, ensuring consistency across image sets and physical samples
• Conduct QA on color accuracy and retouching execution for product photography
• Partner closely with the In-House Photographer and Retouching Specialist and Creative Services team to align on priorities, workflows, and deadlines

Requirements: 

• 3+ years of professional photo retouching experience, ideally within fashion, luxury, or e-commerce environments
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (retouching, compositing, color correction); experience with Capture One a plus
• Strong understanding of color theory, fabric texture, and product accuracy in a commercial retail context
• Experience retouching high-volume e-commerce imagery with consistent brand standards
• Highly organized with the ability to track multiple projects simultaneously
• Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative working style

The target rate for this role is between $25 - $35 per hour.

This is a freelance, project-based engagement. The Photo Retoucher will operate as an independent contractor, retain discretion over work methods, and may provide services to other clients concurrently. Engagement scope, duration, and workload may vary based on business needs.
