Produce German-language movie and TV lists (5/week) and feature articles (3/week); research releases and news relevant to German audiences; collaborate with international editorial team; communicate in English and conduct occasional interviews.
JustWatch Guides (guides.justwatch.com is the editorial side of www.justwatch.com) is the world’s leading movie and TV streaming guide. Our editorial division is looking for a passionate writer with at least 5 years of experience and a proven track record working in the entertainment vertical.
Applicants should have an equally strong knowledge of pop culture and tentpole Hollywood franchises (ie, Star Wars, Marvel, etc.) as well as films and series that resonate locally with the German audience.
The ideal candidate will contribute to and maintain German language lists and features for our localised site in Germany and must be able to communicate and report in English via Slack and email. Successful applicants will be able to produce 5 lists/week and 3 feature articles/week. Experience with interviewing talent within the entertainment industry is a strong plus.

- Write daily German-language content alongside a global team of writers who are experienced in writing for the international and German-specific market, including 5 lists/week and 3 features/week
- Staying up-to-date with movie & TV show releases and writing texts about the latest news, especially those of interest in Germany and to the German-speaking market
- Researching and staying on top of upcoming movie & TV show releases, and writing with authority on each topic pitched or assigned
- Working closely with an international copywriting team
What we need from you
- A native German speaker with excellent written and verbal skills in English
- Previous entertainment writing experience (ideally focused on SEO and Google Discover)
- Expert-level knowledge and passion for movies and TV shows
- An excellent eye for detail for everything from research to proofreading to image selection
What we offer you
- You will become part of a passionate, professional and fun team while getting first-hand experience writing and editing for an audience of over 50 million users per month
- A challenging learning curve and the ability to achieve continuous development: You will work directly with our Head of Editorial, Senior Editor, and other department Editors
- A positive working environment with an open feedback culture
- Freedom and support to pursue your development goals
- This is a high-growth position, with the ability to scale the department with more ideas, talent, and resources
We look forward to your application that shows what motivates you, why you want to work at JustWatch, and how you align with our core values.
