Community Manager - Reddit & Social Platforms (Freelance) | Acorns

Acorns is seeking a Part-time Community Manager to champion our community and shape the voice of our social presence. You’ll be on the front lines, managing conversations, executing engagement strategies, and supporting customers while owning and scaling emerging performance channels including Reddit as part of the paid social mix.

This role is being offered on a contract basis with an expected duration of 4-6 months with potential to expand based on business need and requiring 25 hours of work per week.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA.

• Direct Customer Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, mentions, and direct messages across all social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube) with empathy and brand-aligned precision.

• Reddit Community Management: Develop and scale Reddit as a performance and insight channel, including community-native creative, AMAs, interest-based targeting, and full-funnel measurement.

• Engagement Strategy: Implement creative tactics to spark meaningful conversations and increase community sentiment among our customers.

• Support Partnership: Act as the primary support bridge, escalating technical issues or complex inquiries to the appropriate internal teams while maintaining a helpful and human touch.

• Cultural Relevance: Identify and participate in trending cultural moments and real-time social conversations to keep Acorns relevant and top-of-mind for our customers.

• Sentiment Reporting: Track community trends, feedback, and recurring questions to provide the social team with actionable insights for future content ideation.

• Brand Advocacy: Uphold the Acorns values—Lead With Heart and Always Build Trust—in every digital interaction.

• Community Expertise: Proven experience managing high-volume Reddit communities for consumer brands, with a knack for turning passive followers into active advocates.

• Exceptional Communication: Ability to write in a tone that is approachable, professional, and mission-driven, ensuring every customer feels supported.

• Creative Spark: A high degree of creativity with the ability to brainstorm "outside the box" engagement ideas that turn standard support interactions into memorable brand moments.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $45/hour and $50/hour; commensurate with experience and qualifications.
