THE ROLE
Sofar Sounds LA is looking for a Freelance Commission-Based Sales Consultant to help grow our presence in the local market by selling:
Sponsorship Opportunities for local and national brands seeking exposure through Sofar LA shows and one-of-a-kind experiences
Custom Brand Activations that create real-world moments resonating with Sofar’s creative, music-loving audience—both in-person and online
Private Shows for individuals and organizations looking to host an unforgettable Sofar experience for their LA community—whether it’s a corporate offsite, holiday party, birthday, product launch, commercial opening, or wedding
This is a high-impact, commission-based freelance role—ideal for someone with hustle, a strong network, and a passion for connecting brands to music, culture, and live experiences.
*Please note that this is a 6-month fixed-term contract. Our Sales Consultants are freelancers who earn commission-based pay.
What you'll do:
- Identify and engage local businesses and brands interested in sponsoring Sofar LA shows
- Negotiate deal terms and close high-value opportunities
- Pitch and close private events and sponsorships with brands, event planners, and corporate partners
- Collaborate with the Sofar LA team to ensure events run smoothly and deliver on client expectations
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, leads, and conversion activity
Who you are:
- You have experience in B2B/B2C sales, business development, partnership marketing, or sponsorship—especially in live events, culture, or media
- You're energized by commission-based work and have the drive to chase opportunities and close deals
- You’re a clear communicator, a natural connector, and confident in your ability to deliver value
- You have deep knowledge of LA’s diverse business and cultural landscape—from music, events, and hospitality to corporate and brand sectors
- You love music, community, and the idea of helping brands tap into LA’s creative heartbeat
- You bring an existing network of relevant contacts
- Familiar with prospecting and CRM tools, including Seamless.AI and Hubspot
