Role Summary

FP Movement is looking for a Creative Director to lead the conceptualization and execution of the brand image for the FP Movement customer. This position requires a highly motivated and creative individual to inspire and mentor the FP Movement photography and styling teams, one who also brings a high taste level to the unique combination of aspirational and accessible lifestyle imagery FP Movement is known for. In this role, the Creative Director is responsible for the look of the brand across all divisions. This person must have the skills to be an effective and seasoned leader for our large team, and present creative concepts to Senior Executives with the ability to articulate from equally a creative and business point-of-view.  This role is highly collaborative and will partner daily with Marketing, Social and other departments to continue to evolve the brand identity for FP Movement.


This role reports to the President of FP Movement, based in Los Angeles CA. 

Role Responsibilities

 Creative Direction

 

  • Work with Senior Art Directors and leaders to conceptualize seasonal and monthly direction of brand photography and styling for all marketing imagery, e-commerce imagery, in-store signage and print catalogs.
  • Attend cross divisional seasonal trend concept meetings as lead representative of brand imagery.
  • Collaborate with Trend and Concept teams and Marketing and Merchandising teams to develop unique shoot concepts and ensure imagery aligns with seasonal trends and weekly brand objectives.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with the President to review concepts and executions, prepare presentations for executive review, and hindsight shoot results and feedback.
  • Work in tandem with the Retail creative department to take campaign imagery beyond the website through additional Omni-level print projects, promotions, display and retail signage placement.
  • Research and gather inspiration, and stay abreast of competitors, new methods and trends applicable to the FP Movement brand identity and develop original and creative ways to continually evolve the brands imagery.
  • Direct the final customer-facing website creative as it relates to women’s and men’s imagery, including homepage and lookbook editing.
Leadership and Team Management

 

  • Oversee a team of Art Directors, e-commerce and editorial photographers, stylists and post-production personnel.
  • Motivate and inspire the team and work collaboratively to incorporate their ideas into the creative vision for the FP Movement  brand.
  • Manpower plan the development, hierarchy and recruitment as needed in order to develop successful career paths for internal talent.
  • Align with Senior Art Director on monthly product initiatives and review product assortment to determine with team how best to feature trend concepts, key categories and special product messages through brand imagery.
  • Work with team to ensure all imagery is delivered effectively and on time.
  • Develop studio and editorial workflow as needed for increased and effective production.
  • Write and deliver formal written and verbal reviews for all direct reports on an annual basis.
  • Oversee the scheduling, presentation, approval, distribution and execution of all projects pertaining to studio and editorial imagery.
  • Prioritize, delegate and multi-task daily within tight deadlines and in conjunction with business and marketing strategies.
  • Identify growth opportunities and talent needs to ensure succession planning within the photography and styling teams.
  • Manage a consistent roster of freelance and agency support.

Photography and Brand Imagery

 

  • Work closely with President and Head of Marketing to align on seasonal branded messaging.
  • Identify opportunities to tell larger FP Movement branded messages through cross divisional story telling
  • Work with Senior Art Directors and Production teams on shoot concepts, location and casting direction for the brand image and guide team of Art Directors in the creation of approval presentations.
  • Oversee team of Senior and ecommerce Art Directors to maintain highly productive e-commerce studios including on-figure, lifestyle and still life product imagery across all divisions and multiple 
  • Work collaboratively with the team of Art Directors, Studio Managers, Photography and Post- Production teams, on all process and workflow issues, guidelines, and retouching, with the goal of upholding image quality standards through each touchpoint of the photo studio process.
  • Continually evolve FP Movements approach to e-commerce imagery, ensuring we act as industry leaders and are constantly innovating our approach to creating emotional, elevated product photography.
  • Work with Senior Art Directors to conceptualize all editorial photo shoots, including mood boards, casting, styling, hair and makeup and location direction. Ensure each element is on brand and aligns with the approved seasonal concepts.
  • Partner cross-departmentally with Trend and Concept teams and Marketing and Merchandising teams to develop shoot editorials that align with trend concepts, key marketing initiatives, and seasonal business goals.
  • Help to forecast annual budget needs for e-commerce and editorial photography.
Role Qualifications
  • 15+ years leading creative and studio teams
  • BA, BFA, MA, or MFA Degree in Arts/Fine Arts or similar field
  • DTC experience
  • Ability to manage fast paced enviroment and campaigns of all levels
  • Leadership experinece in growing, scaling and developing teams
  • AI or digital creation experience preferred

This role is based in Los Angeles, CA. 

The wage range for this role is $225,000 - $250,000.  Wages are based on several factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, etc.
