FP&A Manager / Remote

Competitive Compensation + Premium Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage

Why You Should Choose Steno

At Steno, we’re growing fast and transforming the litigation technology industry with best-in-class court reporting, modern solutions that add value for lawyers, and an exceptional client experience. We partner with law firms to simplify complex workflows, deliver reliable outcomes and case insights, and to revolutionize a traditionally outdated space while we expand across the country.

  • Wins together – Stock options included. When Steno grows, you grow.
  • Invests in you – Premium Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage - options for you and your family, with 100% of premiums covered for some plans - well above industry benchmarks.
  • Gives you real financial impact – Work directly with senior leadership to shape financial strategy, support fundraising, and drive business performance at the highest levels.
  • Constantly innovates with technology at our core – We are a modern organization solving real problems in an industry that needs a revolutionary approach.
  • Provides meaningful coaching and support – A collaborative, humble Finance team committed to your professional growth and success.
  • Competitive Base Salary ($87,500–$130,000) — with real growth potential as you make your mark and build something meaningful.
  • A culture worth showing up for – Join a tight-knit, collaborative team that genuinely invests in each other and celebrates wins together.
  • Work hard, go far – Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote environment where your output speaks for itself.

Why FP&A here is different:

  • Leadership that’s present and invested – Gain direct visibility with executives and board-level stakeholders who value financial insight and rely on your analysis to make key decisions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration at its best – Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to drive meaningful outcomes and break down silos.
  • Data-driven by design – We let the numbers guide our decisions, from unit economics to fundraising strategy, ensuring we’re always optimizing for impact.
  • Always ahead of the curve – We stay sharp through continuous innovation, building modern financial systems and processes that scale with the business.
  • Build something that matters – This isn’t a “maintain the status quo” role. You will help shape Steno’s financial engine, develop scalable processes, and grow your career in ways a large corporate environment simply can’t offer.

You’ll crush this role if you have 2+ years of FP&A, accounting, investment banking, consulting, or related financial experience (preferably in tech/SaaS), with proven strength in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. You’re proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable with financial systems like NetSuite or Adaptive Planning. You communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment where your analytical insights drive real business decisions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
