About the role

We are looking to add a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to our growing FP&A department. You will lead budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling, capital planning, and KPI reporting across Riot’s operating entities, partnering closely with all departments to maximize profitability and improve data-driven decisions. You’ll join a lean, high-visibility FP&A team that works directly with senior leadership, with the opportunity to build and develop analysts as the team grows.

This hybrid position will be based in our Castle Rock, CO or Austin, TX office.

What you'll do

  • Lead the annual budget and rolling forecast process, partnering with business owners to build forecasts, explain variance drivers, and consolidate entity and department budgets into the corporate plan across Riot’s subsidiaries.
  • Own and enhance NetSuite planning, budgeting and project modules, including continued development of rolling forecast and scenario capabilities.
  • Build and maintain capital expenditure budgets, forecasts and tracking for mining and data center construction projects, including budget-to-actual and cost-to-complete reporting.
  • Manage, mentor and develop FP&A analysts, setting priorities and reviewing deliverables.
  • Partner with business segments and senior leadership, translating data into insights and presentations that frame key decisions, drive strategy, and support achievement of OKRs.
  • Create and maintain financial and operating models, and develop KPIs, reporting and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) that give leadership timely visibility into performance.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance/FP&A, including some public company experience, and 2+ years of experience managing a team.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another common ERP (NetSuite Planning & Budgeting a plus), multi-entity consolidation, and capital project / construction financial tracking.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI preferred) and SQL or data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus.
  • Experience in operations, construction, or capital-intensive industries (energy, data centers, manufacturing) strongly preferred; interest in Bitcoin and the digital infrastructure sector.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, detail-focused problem solver who is effective both independently and as part of a team, and handles confidential information with discretion.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
  • Long-Term Growth: Eligible to participate in Riot’s equity incentive programs and share in the success you help build.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan: Incudes a generous company match.
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Multiple medical plan options, including 100% company-paid plans.
  • Wellness & Lifestyle Perks: Enjoy free gym memberships, pet insurance, childcare discounts, and more to support your life both in and out of work.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
