The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will play a key role in providing financial and related operational support to Cengage businesses. You will be responsible for driving financial budgeting, planning, modeling, strategy, forecasting and reporting.

Strong interpersonal skills, collaborates with teams, uses data for problem-solving, communicates effectively with all levels.

This role will report to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis – School.

What you'll do here:

  • Use driver based models and data analytic tools like Power BI, Snowflake, and Excel for financial planning aligned with organizational goals

  • Build and maintain monthly revenue forecasting and sales pipeline models using data analytic tools, to enable data driven insights and accurate prediction of future performance

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting of operating expenses, with a strong focus on cost management and aligning financial goals with strategic business objectives

  • Perform in depth analysis of revenue streams and operating expenses, highlighting key performance indicators related to pricing, resource allocation, and margin performance; deliver actionable insights into trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision making and drive profit growth and operational efficiency

  • Design and deploy advanced sales and cost analytics reporting tools and dashboards, enabling scalable self service reporting and data driven decision making across the School segment

  • Provide analytical support for ad hoc financial projects and strategic initiatives as requested by business unit leadership

Skills you will need here:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial planning, financial modeling, and financial strategy

  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, analysis, and reporting

  • Proficiency in financial planning and analysis software and tools such as PowerBI and Snowflake

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

  • Demonstrate leadership and team management skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • Professional certifications such as CFA or equivalent experience, CPA, or CMA

  • Prior experience in the K-12 industry, working in a business unit and matrixed organization

  • Experience in financial planning and analytics function

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions activities, including due diligence and integration

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and influencing decision-making at various levels of an organization

  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$101,900.00 - $115,200.00 USD
