Who We Are

At Voltify, we are building the next generation of rail: battery locomotives that fast charge autonomously and dynamically through a dedicated self-sustained microgrid network.

We are bringing back the power to the industry and eliminating the dependency on fossil fuels, lowering the rail industry's main expense, energy, by more than 20%. This is over $3B yearly just in North America.

We are already working with some of the largest global rail companies with over $50M in contingent orders. We have raised over $30M from top tier funds and strategics and are rapidly growing.

Our founding team has a proven track record in building billion dollar public companies in renewable energy and infrastructure.

About The Role

We are looking for a Founding Sales & Go-to-Market Leader who will build extensive relationships in the rail industry, turn those relationships into revenue, and build and scale Voltify's commercial GTM engine from the ground up.

This role is for a natural-born connector who can open doors, for a sales executive comfortable building deep trust with C-Suite level partners and customers, and for a builder and operator who can execute a sales motion from zero and scale it to $1B. This is truly a zero to one role.

You will help design how we go to market, shape pricing and deal structures, and build the systems that allow us to scale to hundreds of contracts per year.

We're looking for a 10x leader, low ego, focused on impact, someone who combines sharp commercial instinct with a bias for action.

What You'll Do

  • Build credibility and trust as a founding commercial leader.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships and early adopters.
  • Convert relationships into signed contracts and recurring revenue.
  • Set and surpass ambitious targets, including 100+ contracts per year.
  • Leverage AI and automated workflows to remove operational friction.
  • Focus human energy on high value, face to face interactions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to optimize revenue models: leasing, energy sales, hybrid models.
  • Help define pricing, contract structure, and pilot to commercial conversion strategy.
  • Stand by KPIs for sales, contracts, pipeline health, and community engagement.
  • Continuously improve processes based on performance data.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in early-stage or scale-up B2B sales, preferably in industrial, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Track record of building relationships from scratch and closing strategic deals.
  • Comfortable selling products in early stage or pre revenue conditions.
  • Ability to design creative revenue structures and deal models.
  • Strong understanding of go to market strategy for niche, targeted markets.
  • Able to identify opportunities to expand revenue streams and partnerships.
  • Experience leveraging AI or automation to optimize sales workflows.
  • Strong pipeline management and data-driven decision-making.
  • Hands-on and ready to own both strategy and execution.
  • Persuasive, credible, and a natural relationship-builder.
  • Bias for action, focused on closing deals and creating measurable results.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
