Own customer implementations from contract through go-live for fraud and AML programs. Design data integrations, map schemas, validate data, build detection rules, configure AI investigation agents, and establish case workflows. Manage timelines and stakeholder communication across multiple implementations, train customer teams, create reusable playbooks, and share customer insights with Product and Engineering. The role requires hands-on technical expertise with APIs, SQL, ETL, programming, data integration, fraud detection logic, and LLM-based workflows.

About the role:

We are looking for the newest member of our Forward Deployed Engineering team, with a focus on Implementation. You will turn a signed contract into a production-ready fraud and AML program: the data flowing into the platform, the detection logic that generates investigations, and regulatory requirements such as Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and Customer Risk Rating (CRR), among others. You will also configure and tune the AI Agents that help customers’ teams investigate alerts and cases.

The work is both customer-facing and hands-on technical. You will run several implementations at once for banks, credit unions, fintechs, and crypto platforms, in an industry where regulations, fraud patterns, and our own AI capabilities change quickly. Staying organized while adapting quickly is part of the job.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own each implementation from the first conversation to go-live, including the plan, timeline, and communication with the customer’s business and technical stakeholders

  • Design each customer’s data integration, whether real-time API, batch file, or core banking extract, from schema mapping through historical backfill to clean, validated data in production

  • Build, test, and tune each customer’s fraud and AML program end to end: the rules, screening, and customer risk rating that detect risk, the AI Agents that investigate alerts, and the case workflows their analysts use to reach a decision

  • Train customer teams and hand each live customer to your Customer Success counterpart, ready to run on their own

  • Turn what you learn on each project into repeatable playbooks, and bring patterns you see across customers back to Product and Engineering

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in implementation, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or forward-deployed engineering for a B2B SaaS product, ideally in fintech, regtech, or financial crime.

  • Strong technical foundation. You are hands-on with REST APIs and Postman, SQL and relational databases, ETL pipelines, and at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar). You can design an integration end to end and debug it when it breaks.

  • Fluency with data. You can take a customer’s file layout or schema, map it, spot what is missing, and tell their technical resources what needs to change. Bonus: experience with core banking data from providers such as FIS, Fiserv, or Jack Henry is a plus.

  • Detection logic. You can take a pattern a BSA officer or fraud lead describes, turn it into a rule, and test it against real data.

  • Hands-on with AI. You have configured or built LLM-based workflows or agents, and you know how to write their instructions, test their output, and judge when it is ready for production.

  • Organized and adaptable. You keep several implementations on their committed dates, adjust quickly when priorities or requirements shift, and raise slippage early with a path to recover.

  • Clear communication. You can run a meeting with a customer’s compliance lead in the morning and their data engineering team in the afternoon, and your status updates can be acted on without a follow-up call.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
