Position Overview
Formation Operator assures correct acid level and conduct a visual inspection for cosmetic defects.
Areas of Focus
Formation Operator complies with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE. Additionally, Formation Operator understands & practices the Quality policy day to day.
Responsibilities
Level I
• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type
• Perform the proper function of stacking on / off from conveyors
• Identify all defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill)
• Analyze the correct direction of the batteries during off bearing. (Understand correct polarity of batteries)
• Identify the correct cable (jumpers) to be placed on specific types of batteries
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing
• Ensure correct marking on the battery rack to aid Circuit Tender
• Display correct use of PPE
• Perform general housekeeping
• Meets all quality requirements and standards
• Meets all production requirements
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months – 1-year machine operator experience
• Stand-up Lift / Forklift Certification
• Basic computer skills
• Read and understand basic English
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Experience in an assembly/production environment
