  • Define and execute compelling product launches (both major and minor), ongoing demand generation campaigns, and adoption programs.

  • Partner with product management to inform roadmap decisions and prioritize features that nurture customer value.

  • Identify product market fit with sales and customer success teams to develop strategies for high-value accounts and key industries.

  • Guide the creation of high-quality marketing assets across teams

  • Train sales and field teams on the unique benefits and differentiation of Confluent's offerings.

  • Represent Confluent at conferences, events, and webinars as a subject matter expert, sharing insights and connecting with diverse audiences.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the stream processing space.

What You Will Bring:
  • 8+ years of B2B product marketing experience in a SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software company, with a focus on data infrastructure, analytics, or cloud-native platforms.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and executing go-to-market strategies for technical products.

  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, customer success, and technical marketing teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results with a focus on supporting product adoption and measurable outcomes.

What Gives You an Edge:
  • In-depth understanding of stream processing technologies, including familiarity with tools like Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, or similar technologies for real-time data streaming.

  • Knowledge of modern data architectures, real-time analytics, event-driven architectures, and ETL processes is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity and support of open source technologies and business models.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
